The Human Bean on Richmond Road in Lexington, KY likes to add tips without customers’ consent. I was told $7.69 for my coffee and then got an alert on my phone for a charge of $8.69. Why exactly a dollar more? Because the card reader gives the options for a $1, $2, or $3, or custom tip. Knowing most people decline, she didn’t even present me with the reader for me to make a choice and just helped herself to a dollar without my consent. I confronted her about it and made her put it back on my card and she tried to play dumb about it. That is called stealing, lady! Watch your transactions if you give them your business!

I want to give a 5 star rating because I really do love the drink and food, and everyone that I’ve come into contact with at this location has been so kind and great at their job. My problem lies in the fact that the store is scheduled to open at 5am and for the last four Fridays when I’ve arrived to the Richmond Rd. location the store isn’t open. The hours listed online state that the store opens at 5am on Fridays, and I know I have been to this location at 5:10am on a Friday before and have completed a purchase. I’m scheduled to be at my job at 5:30am so getting a drink from human bean on Friday mornings is something I really look forward to. I’m extremely disappointed in the service (or lack there of) I’ve been met with. I even waited in the drive thru for 10 min this morning with the hopes that someone would open the store. I was hesitant to write this, but I told myself today that if I arrived to the store and there wasn’t anyone there I would. I pulled into the parking lot at 5:06, and I was the only soul there. Just for the record, at any other job, you’re expected to be present and ready to work at time of opening. I’ve worked in customer service/retail my entire working life and this feels very unprofessional. I truly hate saying that because, as I’ve said, everyone who has helped me here has been so sweet and good at their job. I just want to give this store my business, but there’s no one there to give my business to. Thanks. :,)

They have all the things other coffee shops have. However, the Human Bean have the best staff! They typically converse as your order is being filled; if that's the kinda of energy you're on. I'm sure if you are a true introvert that they'd leave you alone. For example; today, the gentleman asked me what I was getting into. I said oh just got my nails done. He complimented my nail shape and knew the shade. Maybe corny but it made me smile. I typically enjoy the Mexi Mocha.
I took my daughter here after a doctor's appointment and we both got drinks and a sandwich. The food and service was wonderful ❤️

Manager TJ and everyone who works at this location is amazing. As a nurse I def would pick them over Starbucks & Dunkin’ any day of the week because I know my drink will be made perfectly and the staff here are awesome !!! 🤍💙

On three separate occasions, I’ve been here with my wife and they didn’t have any coffee brewed. A coffee shop with NO COFFEE! It’s just a RedBull shop.
Update: went here again with my wife and they actually had coffee this time… but their lids don’t seal correctly and the coffee dripped all over me when we were in the car. This place sucks nuts.
Always so friendly and kind. Helped me celebrate my last day of Chemotherapy! Love this place and highly recommend.

I went through the drive-thru, which was a little difficult to locate if you have never been here. I got a Chocolate Granita. They could not take my $100 bill so I literally had to dig out change to pay. The drink was OK, not amazing. I don't think I'll go out of my way to come here but I would probably stop if it was on my way.
