Went for dinner and loved the ambiance. Started with a nice Caesar salad. Delicious fried half chicken served with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. Live music ! Good service.

We went for a family brunch one Sunday. We were there to celebrate a birthday. The manager helped me arrange a special bourbon tasting with our brunch. The staff was awesome. They were very accommodating and the food was top notch at a reasonable price. We would definitely go back.Dietary restrictions: They have different gluten free breads and can accommodate your dietary restrictions.

We stayed at the attached hotel (The Campbell House) and ate here 3 times during our stay. Everything was delicious and the bourbon selection was fantastic! The pork chops were slow smoked and juicy, one of the best I've ever had. Service was excellent! We will be back!

First the outlook was great. The two ladies performing were GREAT! The looks of the Rick house with the barrels was great. The sirlon was horrible. Medium rare came out raw. Then we asked the server for a reheat and she was angry. The one recommended drink simply tasted like a bitter cherry sour with no bourbon. We presented two coupons from our room that should have made two cocktails free with chips and she said they didnt work! So needless to say subpar. The cornbread was really bread weith corn pieces. Not the best. Overall a 3 simply because the ladies performing entertained my wife and I.

Great service and comfortable setting. Food was great. Our server was honest about the size of the size of the chicken platter which was helpful (we would have had WAY too much food otherwise). Music was good but too loud for conversation.

We canceled our reservation because the menu had been modified for Valentines Day, and they only had 2 options to eat. And that wasn't the worst of it. They contacted me the day prior to let us of the changes, and I was unable to make any other reservations because of the late notification. My initial reservation was made weeks prior because of the upcoming holiday.

We celebrated our anniversary with a “local getaway” at Campbell House, where the Rackhouse Tavern is. Our expectations were high, since it has that upscale atmosphere where you are open to have the best experience. However, we both are disappointed after having our anniversary dinner there. My husband ordered a flight of bourbon and I had the Toasty Roasty craft cocktail, which were just fabulous, so it’s not about the bar menu. Drinks are just great at the place. Now, the food is what we are debating about: I had the Rainbow Trout, it comes with really well seasoned collard greens… and a very, very plain cauliflower puree. The fish itself was well cooked and fresh, but also kinda tasteless. Hubby went for the special of the day, which turned out to be the Horseshoe, which was defined as their own version of the traditional Kentucky hot brown and that comes topped off with French fries; fried were cold ( in fact, when mentioned to the server, she offered to bring an additional side of fries to make it up) but he says the whole dish wasn’t really good. Ambiance is relaxed and cozy, there was live music and service was top notch. I just wish the food was the cherry on the top of the cake so our experience could have been better.

Very loud- literally you can't speak to each other. Service was incredibly slow- waitress was kind enough to explain a huge 15 person party had arrived and she was doing her best. Everyone was waiting- a while. Even for a simple bourbon- it came out 15 minutes after we ordered. Hush puppies were dry and thick-Fried chicken was terrible- very dark- like oil had not been changed for days. Trout was good with collards- but the service and noise level made it impossible to enjoy. Reviews were really good which is why we chose it- maybe it was a bad weekend for them.

I stay at this hotel quite regularly for work but I had never had food at the restaurant. I had a long day today so I decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. So, I walked in the dining area, planning on grabbing a seat to have dinner and enjoy the ambiance. But before I can decide where to sit, a random guy rushed up to me asking if I'm having dinner or just having a drink. I had no idea who this guy was; it looked like he was just sitting at the bar on his tablet and rushed over to interrogate me when I was wander in his dining room. After I was seated, I thought ok... time to relax a bit... the ambiance was really nice but it was a bit chilly even though the fireplace was lit. (I know I wasn't just me because there were a table of men, some with their coats on, and the lady next to me had a hoodie zipped up.) Well, I figured maybe I just need some fuel. So, for dinner I had the salmon. The bourbon cider glaze on it was really nice, but I was expecting more veggies. It was yummy, but I don't know if it's worth $30. Maybe you pay for the ambiance and convenience at a place like this. For dessert I got the Italian lemon cake. The waitress said it was a good choice so I was excited to try it. But when I had the first bite, the cake was more disappointing than the main dish... it tasted like it had been refrigerated and it was not lemony at all. Over all, I'd give this place a 4 star experience for ambiance, waitress service, and the salmon was nice. But I wouldn't get the dish or this dessert again. Maybe next time I'll try the steak and their chocolate cake instead.

My group had a great experience at The Rackhouse last night! Food and drinks were delicious and we were served quickly. Staff was pleasant and personable. I plan to come back when I can enjoy the live music and look forward to "patio season" as those spaces look great for relaxing in with friends. I appreciated that I was able to have a conversation with my family over dinner and that I could make a reservation. The updates that The Campbell House has invested in were well worth it and the restaurant is gorgeous and very welcoming!

Yes!!! This restaurant is fabulous! We were greeted by the host,Lizzy with a smile! Super nice. And our server Delaney was fantastic! She helped us navigate the bourbon list and the menu as this was our first visit. The bartender hannah was attentive too. The manager Scott checked on us to ensure our dinner was made to our expectations which is exceeded our expectations! The beet salad was incredible! It was huge (we could have shared it!). Gorgeous presentation of 8 golden beets with a bed of spinach tossed with strawberries and feta cheese with their own rhubarb vinaigrette! My husband had the duck with garlic sautéed green beans and cheesy grits. He loved every bite! I had the pork chop which was huge and so tender and flavorful with asparagus. A culinary delight! The ambiance is so relaxing....feels like you're inside of a barn or the rackhouse where they store the whisky barrels. They have a quaint outdoor fireplace seating area (closed as its freezing here tonight!). There is a cozy fireplace in the restaurant too with comfortable couch and chairs . They had live music tonight too. What a bonus for us! Two talented men with an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar and wow could they sing!! Jimmy buffet would have approved! We will definitely cone back! They are located inside of the historic Campbell House Hotel which is now owned by Hilton. We were traveling and in jeans and tennis shoes and felt comfortable but you could easily come here for a date or special occasion and get all dressed up! It's a special place! Feels like they bring out the best of Kentucky. Love the art and Kentucky photos! We were a bit hesitant to stop here after reading some of the previous reviews, but so glad we came in and tried it! Not sure why anyone would be negative about such a lovely place

Food was terrible and salty as well. And let's not forget the extremely high prices. Had a large party so the tip was a turning of the knife in my butt. Will be sore over this one for a long time. Oh yeah if this guy is a chef I'm Marco Polo in search of a good meal.

The hostess and manager were fabulous.. had our tables marked with special centerpieces for birthday celebration!! Love that part. Our waitress was just lost with our group. She talked a lot at bar and left our tables to fend ourselves. Hushpuppies were on point and highly recommend.

The wedge was good, but now what I expected. The wings needed something more. The main dishes were delightful. The venue was breathtaking and the wait staff was friendly and helpful.

We weren't sure what to expect as this Tavern has replaced the previous restaurant but we were delighted. Service was good, food was good, family and friends all had a good time.
