Being in a rush, this place understood the assignment and took care of us! Our waiter, who I did not catch his name on accident, did an incredible job of making sure we were taken care of. Fried pickles are a must order! The burgers were so big and your money's worth.
I booked a 7:30 business meal for 7 on a Wednesday. We were seated in the Thirsty Fox, which had a cozy, rustic ambience. The food and service were excellent.
The restaurant was cute and the food was good but the service was horrible. We had a reservation and waited 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and seated by the hostess. We waited 30 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. It just got worse from there. Overall, we were there for 2 hours and made for a really frustrating meal.
We were referred by a local from one of our distillery tours. Good food, nice ambience. Easy to find. We enjoyed ourselves!
Great place to eat. We both got their shrimp and grits. The best shrimp and grits we have had. Outstanding. Great service. Highly recommend.
For a recent lunch outing (around noon) I was surprised to find that two of my menu choices could not be fulfilled. There were not a lot of customers in the restaurant but service was somewhat slow. The food was pretty good with the exception of the cheese grits. The consistency was good but I could not detect any cheese taste in them. Not a bad experience but could have been better.
We had Sunday brunch there. The decor is fun and welcoming. To start with, I had the house made expresso and it was very good. The eggs Benedict were spot on and my friend had the bologna sandwich and he loved it. We just like the vibe there. We'll be back.
Great food made with local ingredients. Very affordable and convenient. A great choice before a play at the Opera House, or a concert/basketball game at Rupp. We will be back!
Unfortunately, almost everything we ordered was mediocre, which was surprising since we have eaten at other Ouita Michaels establishments and enjoyed it. The Zimmerman patty melt was served on dry toast rather than grilled bread. The chicken tenders were good enough but nothing special. The cheese grits were very dry. The hot brown was served without any sauce, completely dry. They brought out a side of the cream sauce, but it should have been remade properly. Our server was very attentive and personable.
Currently sitting with a party of 30 planned well in advance with a set menu. No menus were printed. The corporate receipt was being passed out to guests to order from. 1 waitress. 40 minutes for drinks and an hour to take orders. This is embarrassing for the travel company paying for it, and for Ouita and her restaurant. The “manager” couldn’t be bothered and isn’t helping the staff. Hopefully the food saves the day if it ever arrives.

We chose Zims for a birthday brunch which included 2 kids ages 5 and 16 months. It was the perfect choice for this celebration. Food was good, service was good, and they were very helpful with candles on our desserts. Thank you, Zims!
First time to dine at Zim's - traveling through Lexington. The setting was a lovely restored stone building used as the Visitors Center- we enjoyed the patio seating- it was a bit noisy due to motorbikes and cars gunning engines/ but the weather suited us just fine! The food was well prepared and delicious- my partner ordered a wedge salad and was served spring greens with the wedge dressing- we thought it odd that we were not asked about a substitute or advised of the switch. My fav were the Artichoke fritters!
Food was great, but service was atrocious. Instead of seating us in the main restaurant, the host, who seemed extremely annoyed that we were there, sat us in the bar area. We sat at our table for at least 10 minutes with no greeting despite the fact that two different servers kept walking by our table and looking at us. Eventually, I went into the bar to ask if we had a server and was rudely told they didn't know we were there because the host didn't tell them??? Will not be back.
My boyfriend and I went for Restaurant Week. We experienced a super meal from start to finish! Our server was attentive and answered all the questions we had. Our food was delicious! We will be back!
I really don't like leaving a bad review but honestly it seems like this restaurant and especially our server don't understand how restaurant interactions work. Vast amounts of time without seeing our server, waiting forever for basic orders, orders wrong, never being asked if we would like another beverage. Working with a backed up kitchen or packed dining room is one thing, even incorrect orders happen and I give grace with that, but no silverware, no napkins, no plates, waiting 20 mins for a drink from the bar, I could go on. There was no reason for this meal to have taken over 2 hours for what it was. Maybe go somewhere else if you come to Lex for a good restaurant experience.
