Saturday night we had a 70th surprise birthday party for my mother. Mark (the owner),Jessica, Mike and the crew at Thoroughbreds were unbelievable. Everyone could not stop talking about how great the party was and how great the food tasted. Jessica took control and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. If there was an issue that needed to be solved or if I needed something she was always there to handle it. Mike provided incredible service behind the bar serving up great cocktails and making sure nobody left thirsty. Mark Smith the owner served up brisket sliders, potato skins, a beer cheese platter, and what party goers described to be one of the best mini hot browns they had ever put in their mouths. Words can't describe how grateful I am to call Mark and the crew down at thoroughbreds my friends. They truly are amazing people. If you have not experienced the hometown cozy atmosphere of Thoroughbreds I strongly recommend you stop by and say hi to everyone and enjoy a great meal or cocktail. Verified Customer Chad Faris
Food wasn’t fresh the meatloaf gave me heartburn. Had to ask for cornbread three times.

Stumbled on this place via Goggle maps our first day in Lexington, and Wow!!! Four guys sat right down, cold beers all around, awesome wings, great steaks, local specials, Weller 12! Service was great and we shot the you know what with Mark(3rd generation owner), great guy. We have no problem paying for good food/service, our bill was about half the amount we expected it to be.
Wish like heck I had a spot like this in my town…Thanks y’all.

Hidden gem in Lexington. Never disappointed with the food. Always a small menu when you look online but every one of the probably 20 times I’ve been there, there are always so many specials on the board. I never order the same thing, and I’m always happy. Still a great value with big servings. Overall a very cool bar sticking to the basics.

Food was amazing. It was crowded and they were short staffed. So service was very slow we had to get someone to wait on us and had to continually ask for various things as the ones waiting on us didn’t come back. They were very attentive to what appeared to be locals who must frequent the place more than those just walking in. We will try again there were multiple signs posted for help wanted.

Could be the GOAT of Lexington’s long time establishments. When I go here with my buddies we always ponder if the walls could talk. It’s a short, simple menu with great services. Many in town will refer to their fried bologna sandwich. The cheeseburger and friend jalapeño bites is what makes this place great.

Saturday night and the special menu was outstanding. From grouper, stuffed flounder, steak, and great prices. This place really surprised me at the food selection and quality it had.
