A person 700 miles away asked if I'd eaten at Tuk Tuk Snack Shop. She'd read about it on her restaurateurs page. We went.

My friends and I visited for a brunch and everything was so good! Not only delicious, but unique and unexpected. I’m southern, so I know biscuits and gravy, but not like this! It felt adventurous to eat like this and I really enjoyed it. The chef (owner) came over to our table and spoke to us about the food, giving us more info and context about what we were eating and just generally making sure we were having a good time. I’ll be back!

Lexington, KY and the general central KY area have a much more diverse food scene now than when I moved there 9 years ago. Part of the success of many small ethnic eateries in the area have been the warmth of service and the demand for variety in an area that has had cultural homogeneity for a very long time. Given how lovingly my hundreds of friends in the area embrace and welcome new businesses serving diverse food, I was surprised to hear the restaurant was not doing so well. One look through their social media accounts and responses to Google reviews, and I understood the problem clearly. If their service was even half as dedicated as their attempts at snarky responses to dissatisfied customers are, if they truly wanted to immerse themselves in the loving and hardworking city of Lexington instead of thinking their culinary expertise from posh food tours and metropolises is somehow too good for Kentuckians, and if their whiny attitude toward criticism was turned into mindful note-taking, I would feel really bad for them. However, it is crystal clear that they are now drinking the (Ceylon) tea they chose to brew. Oh well...

Amazing find in Lexington! The fusion menu was really well done, with quality ingredients and a unique spin. You can't miss out on the happy hour - a great place to meet friends after work and hang on the patio. The mango dessert is a must order!

Owner is incredibly rude and immature - it is honestly shocking. She will also take negative reviews and post them on her account, mock them, respond rudely, and then block you. I thought this was just my experience but it looks like many other customers have had similar experiences. I look forward to seeing this review put on blast!

Very cute, cozy yet lively interior. We had the ribs appetizer, lentil fritters, crab pasta (which they kindly split into two bowls for us to share), and bread pudding. Also tried the Ceylon Martini. Loved everything.

The place is great though a bit on the smaller side. You definitely want reservations because we showed up without them and there was only 1 table available and had we showed up 5 min later, we wouldn't have had that. That said, the food is astounding. We tried the "fries & dips" and ribs appetizers. They both have excellent flavor and then our meals were delicious. Highly recommended.

I love this place!! Not only is the decor and vibe amazing, but the food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. I was really impressed with their wine & drink menu. They have unique cocktails & wine. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. Don't leave without getting the Mango Fluff for dessert.. yum!

Y'all. This is my new favorite trendy but casual place in Lexington. We came here for dinner. The food was delicious and came out fast. I recommend the curry bowl, seafood pasta, ribs, or deviled eggs. All of the drinks and dishes have a unique spin on them. The owner is WONDERFUL and waited on us and accommodated us on a Saturday night even though we didn't have a reservation. She answered all of our questions and we got to learn about Sri Lankan food/spices. Not a lot of seating but they do have indoor/outdoor tables. There are vegan and gluten free options. Easy parking because it's in a plaza. I hope this place sticks around. Check it out!

Anyone who's actually visited Tuk Tuk would know both how welcoming the staff is and how good the food is. I've never been able to take seconds home because I always end up wanting to eat it all there. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches in Lexington, great drinks, great options for folks with dietary restrictions. One of the best restaurants in Lexington.

Love the food! Best grits I've ever had and that should tell you something being born & raised southerner for +30 years. The owner was super friendly too! This is a MUST for anyone visiting in Lexington!

My wife and I had another excellent meal at Tuk Tuk. This marks the 3rd or 4th this year including their "pop up" with Chef Mistry. Last night we enjoyed the deviled eggs, pork ribs, shrimp and grits and crab pasta. All four dishes had a ton of unique flavor but the ribs were a standout for their tenderness and house-made bbq sauce (followed closely by the S&G as the grits were made with coconut milk and paired perfectly with the spices on the shrimp). We'll definitely be back again soon not only for the food but the attentive and warm staff.

8/24/24 Tuk Tuk Snack is a hidden gem that my husband and I recently discovered for our date night and it left us thoroughly impressed. We started with the curry fries, which were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of spice to keep you going back for more. The curry chili ribs were a standout dish—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delightful mix of savory, and slightly sweet notes that left us wanting more. The eggplant salad was a refreshing and flavorful complement, with a balance of textures and a tangy dressing that tied everything together beautifully.

Not only was the food phenomenal and incredibly filling, but the service was also excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Tuk Tuk Snack provided a fantastic dining experience, and we can’t wait to return for another meal. Highly recommended!
