No worries KCH, Cincinatti is doing a WONDERFUL job of caring for and trying to reverse the damage you caused my son. I WOULD NOT take your babies here, especially if they're medically fragile. The intentionally caused my baby harm, (I say intentional because I pointed out the issue and was argued with). Turns out, they didn't care enough that it happened the first time, they let it happen AGAIN! They then lied and manipulated me into a meeting that I asked not to be in without a patient advocate, so I went in alone not knowing I was actually alone. Then, the medical director of the PICU tells me I have no right to see the consents we signed or revoke consents for anything. This place sickens me and I pray every single day for the children and families who are still there unknowing of what harm they can do. The extensive harm done to my son is sickening. The medical trauma we have all endured is sickening. And their attitudes about it all is sickening. All I have to say is this, the proof is in the results. My son spent a month on a ventilator at KCH, and the last doctor on service told me she didn't know how or when they were going to get him off. He was in Cincinatti 2 days, off the iNO, then 5 more days he was extubated. Getting my son out of KCH and into Cincinatti children's quite literally saved his life. His NICU stay was not great either, and I was denied my rights there as well. They also did not give the RSV vaccine as they were supposed to, which is why he was on the ventilator to begin with. This entire hospital is awful, and if policies do not change within this hospital, they will continue to destroy KYs children. I will continue to pray for every family and child in their care.
My 5 week old was admitted for biliary atresia. Dr Rellinger, Martin, Dewberry did the procedure and so far all is well. It felt like we had seen so many people from the Doctors, Nurses, residents, pain management, GI, nutrition, etc and everyone was always helpful. Shout-out to the team of doctors who performed the procedure to help our girl, we are so grateful! The 4th floor nurses in the progressive care unit were amazing to us! Miroslava (heaven sent), Alan, Katie, Alivia, Ally, Kris, Amanda, are just a few who were wonderful! The cons of our experience were a couple ladies who when trying to store my Breastmilk were so rude! Telling the receptionist to tell me there was no room in their fridge (my bag was already there, it could hold more) to place my new milk. Stated that they shouldn't have to retrieve my milk ( more than happy to walk it there) and go to the cafeteria to put it in ice. I was told **Jesse** said it and a lady named Tammy was mentioned throughout. Doubt there was anything done after talking to a higher up and making a phone complaint. Last con was we were discharged and still needed the medicine for my daughter. The Retail Pharmacy took **3 HOURS** AFTER DISCHARGE to bring the medicine. All that was said was they were slammed.
10000 star the nurse and Dr and everyone on 4 North and the pediatric neurologist team that pediatric ER staff all of them were amazing in a time that we were all scared to death anyways they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and even make sure my oldest son would stay with us why the little one was in the hospital had stuff to play with too
You can take the good with the bad all of our sides have always been pretty good doctors nurses take everything and considerations and your concerns UK, children’s hospital UK pediatric ER can’t say anything but good things about them. The only bad suggestions that I would have is the coffee cleaners on the children’s wings for the parents need to be cleaned The vent ducks and some of the children’s rooms need to be cleaned and food. There should be better options. Don’t give me wrong a lot of his awesome especially if you get to go down to the cafeteria itself but they sent up to the rooms they should have more options.
