Sometimes can get loud, but that's part of the fun. Excellent catfish. Actually this place is one of the early date spots for me and my bride of 30 years.
Best locally owned place in town!!
Always awesome.
I sat at the bar, had a few drinks with dinner. I ordered the shrimp and grits. There were certainly a lot of shrimp. The grits were pertty good, too, once I get past the nasty tomato like broth they were in. The bar service was great. But the place gets one star due to the absolutely disgusting restroom. Guests should never have to wade through a giant puddle of urine which covered most of the floor. Neither should the employees. You know they're walking into the kitchen after wading into and out of the restroom. I mentioned the condition of the restroom to the bartender and he said they were getting ready to mop. My guess is only because they were preparing to close. It never should have gotten that bad. If this is an acceptable level of cleanliness I wonder what the kitchen looks like. I'll never eat at Winchell's again. YUK!
Great restaurant omelet was excellent, first time at Winchell but it won't be the last time. A little expensive for us but was a great treat.
We came here to sit outside with our dog. I watched the hostess say to who would have been our server, “Maggie, you cool with two outside?” To which the server replied yes. We sat outside for 20 min without anyone coming out. Took the menus back inside and handed it to Maggie who happened to be standing in the same spot she was when I got there, on her phone, and looked like “oh no” when I came in. I said we were going to eat somewhere else. She never apologized nor said ANYTHING. So I said, “you know, since no one came outside to serve us?”. I worked in a restaurant since I was 15. Everyone makes mistakes but… really? She couldn’t even apologize? I’ll never go back here. Disappointing and rude service.

My friends and I go to Winchell’s every week on trivia night (Friday.) The food is great, atmosphere wonderful but the service is truly what keeps us coming back. Ask for Paul!

A Lexington classic. Good, friendly bar atmosphere if you want to watch a game. Also, excellent home cooked food. This is the food I want when I miss my mama!

One of our favorite places to go!! The food was well prepared, portions were nice size, and the service was top notch! Only negative was the background noise from TV/stereo from the bar area made it very difficult to hear the staff and carry on a conversation.
