It's been a while since I've been to Winchell's, and the most recent visit reminded me of why I haven't been in a while. The service was not good. The server, who was working super hard, literally messed up 75% of our order and even forgot to put in 2 different meals. The chicken wings were over seasoned and the salad dressing was essentially mayonnaise. We felt rushed during the meal, and the restaurant wasn't even full. The breakfast is really good, but the restaurant was struggling during lunch.

A Lexington institution with a well established and deserving reputation for excellent service and delicious helpings in a family friendly atmosphere.
Has great breakfasts as well as awesome lunches and dinners. Great omelets as well as unique sides- try the Jalapeno Grits!
Extended hours from 8 am till 10 at night.
Well worth a drive.
Recommend!

Onion rings were some of the best I’ve had ! Crunchy coating with a real sliced onion. The Ruben has the perfect amount of dressing and kraut with perfectly toasted bread.

First time dining at Winchell's. Let me say this, I will be back. The food was fresh and flavorful. I had the Gourmet chopped burger and it was seasoned so well. We will definitely be back to try more menu items.

Enjoyed our lunch at Winchell's. I had the reuban sandwich with a side of soup. My partner has the fried chicken dinner. Both were very good. Fried chicken was very flavourful and crispy. They also made a bloody Mary with bourbon that was absolutely delicious. Would come here again!

I had the pork with gravy, green beans w/bacon and vinegar slaw. All delicious. Next time I will eat half and take the rest home as I overate.
Waiter was very observant. Had to play trivia. Was fun.

Great place with amazing food for the price point. A handful of local brews on tap and a full bar. You would think that it's a sports bar and some folks may consider it that but the food quality is certainly above bar food level.

All of our visits we've had outstanding service. My only very minor complaint is that I wish they had Miller Lite on draft but they're more than happy to bring you a bottle and glass.

Also, I couldn't help noticing that the music played over the sound system is all covers of major artists by artists I'm not familiar with and they do not have a TouchTunes here to play music on. And even though a very close and exciting Reds game was on this Sunday they didn't turn the volume on. Not sure if that's standard protocol or not but if it is a sports bar some sound for games would be a step in the right direction.

Phew! Please take that all as some constructive criticism. The food and service are above and beyond, the establishment is clean and has a very local feel to it, and they seem to maintain a family friendly environment while simultaneously offering patrons full bar service.

Also, I've been here for breakfast and it's one of the best in Lexington. The food here just never disappoints!
