Beware of paid good reviewsAfter we ate some of the food the waiter explained that they give a free cheesecake dessert if we did a review that the waiter could see.

This was my first time to Zen. The server was amazing. The food and drinks were phenomenal. We order the Edamame, the Beaumont and the Xooker rolls which were selected by our server and the Nigiri Teishoki. Our drinks were A Single Plum and the Lychee Sakatini. I will definitely be back!

Last night dinner at Zen saw the largest varied list of choices for sushi & sashimi that I can recall. All fresh having come in yesterday. There were at least 12 choices that I can recall on the menu. I only had room for 6 - sad. Sake menu remains excellent. They also have a variety of rolls & cooked items. Encourage anyone who likes Japanese food to give it a try.

It was our first time dining there with our daughter. My husband isn't a sushi fan so I wanted to make sure there were things on the menu that he could order. Our server Brook was awesome and very knowledgeable about the menu and food. Everything we ordered was so good! We definitely will be back!

On Monday & Thursday the fish comes in fresh from Japan and other fisheries around the, including recently Turkey, Iceland, Faroe Islands, New Zealand. They have a good sake list. There is a very broad list of Japanese & Kentucky whiskies. June, the head sushi chef, has a wealth of knowledge about fish in general. Highly recommend giving this small place in Beaumont a try.

Fantastic meal! Cool atmosphere. Service was top-notch. Highly recommend calling ahead and reserving an omakase from the friendly & talented chef. Nice selection of cocktails too. Glad we tried it and will most definitely return.

This place always has great fish. Last night I had 5 different fish than I had ever tried. Chef said they didn't arrive until about 1700. Now that is as fresh you can have. Tried a new sake also - even better than my usual Kikusui. To cap it off, the owner was back a month after the birth of her son, their first!

Love this place! Great staff! Each piece of the Sashimi Teishoku (18 piece Chef's choice) is a miniature masterpiece and a a testament to the chef's expertise. A feast for the eyes and the flavors explode on your tongue!

Once again, Zen hit the mark with great fish. Last night they even had fresh Uni & Hotate. The Kani salad with avocado & crunch was a hit. Full bar with many choices of sake & whiskey, including multiple Japanese varieties. I anticipate that we will continue to make it in 1-2 times each week as long as we are in town.

Thank you Chef for the extra touches to make everything as beautiful as well as delicious! Thank you Adam for controlling the flow of the food and great service! Still BLOWS my mind how good something so simple as fried rice can be... it's the best at Zen!! And I don't say that lightly. Though it does lay lightly on you palate when you eat it. Only place I've ever raved about their rice... crazy, but Amazing!

First time at this place and I was not disappointed. Service was fantastic - Brooke was gracious, patient and funny. The sake selection was great. And the food was delicious. I'll definitely be going back.

I was very happy to have chosen Zen Sushi, on my return from Japan a few days prior, and Zen Sushi's choice in the fish selection did not disappoint! While the menu is maki mono heavy, the new age conversion of the rolls did not overwhelm the fresh fish. Their use of Shiso leaves are wonderful in tempura appetizers and in the rolls. The servers were very accommodating and helpful in selecting choice items. It is by far the best sushi I had in Lexington.

I tried this location for the first time today. The staff was extremely friendly but I ordered ahead and the food was not ready at the quoted time. The pork dumplings were delicious but the sushi was not good. I could tell it wasn't fresh and overall the flavors were bland. I couldn't even finish it and given the price, that is a big waste of money. I might go back for dumplings but not for the sushi.

The food and ambiance is very good. Very fresh selections. The only disappointment we had on our last visit was about the real, grated wasabi. The cost for it is $5, and in the past, we've felt like it was totally worth the expense. However on our most recent visit, we received about 1/4 of the amount than what we've gotten before. When we asked about the change, the server said, "Different chefs do things differently." She kind of begrudgingly then said she'd get us more, which was also about the same amount, so now about 1/2 as much as we were accustomed to and we were made to feel somewhat apologetic about even asking. It seems like a small thing, but these days, every penny counts and $5 worth of real, grated wasabi should not be served in pea-sized amounts.
