We saw many positive reviews and were super excited to try this restaurant, we were very disappointed. Food was just ok. The restaurant was incredibly dirty! I could see into the kitchen from where I was sitting and it was unbelievable dirty. The cook was adjusting his pants the entire time and then touching the food. There was food and grease all over the floor along with a disposable glove that kept sticking to the cooks' foot. We will not be returning.

So we put off and put off coming down to the Mayslick Dinnerbell because it was out of the way. The outside isn’t that appealing and seems a bit misplaced truthfully. But once you enter everything changes. It has a cozy atmosphere, the people are super friendly (minus a few strange look our ways), and the food is the best food around. My husband had gotten the McNasty and it was humongous! “The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had” was his exact words and he’s hard to please. I am gluten free myself so I got some grilled chicken tenders mashed potatoes (no gravy) and green beans! The chicken was juicy and tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes I think are homemade and taste just like southern homemade cooking and it’s top tier. My daughter who’s 22 months old absolutely loved the chicken and she’s at the stage where she’s being super picky but she ate everything she was offered! It was great to see her eat so well given she recently lost her appetite being sick. Now the tea, the tea tops everything off. I am from the south and I like my tea sweet but not too sweet and this is the best sweet tea I’ve tasted in the tri-state area! So it’s definitely worth making the trip down to this hometown diner and giving their food a try! Super affordable also!

We were in the area and picked this place from reviews. As others said, don't be put off by the building. When you walk in the door and smell the food - you know that you are in the right place. The food is really good. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. The owner is the cook - a very good one, and you can tell that he is really interested in an entertaining experience with sometimes random singing and making comments like "I have them sweet taters ready." This is a true mom and pop place. We have to go back.

This place was probably the last place I expected to have great food, but man was I surprised. You pull up in front of super unassuming marathon gas station, but once you go into the restaurant you're met with an authentic atmosphere and the message "If you leave here hungry, it's your fault!". That message ended up to be truer than I had thought it could be. I ordered a bacon pepperjack cheeseburger with fries, and when I got it it didn't look like much, but the quality and taste was something else. It was a huge single-patty burger which was well seasoned and flavorful, and even came with onion rings on it.
Any diner would be jealous of the quality of the food.
The guy who cooks the stuff is also the owner, and he seems very passionate. I'm looking forward to the opening of another location, which I heard they're planning to do.

All I'd want changed is the branding- it's so easy to miss this place entirely when just driving by, and it shares a building with a gas station. Maybe just a flashier sign outside would suffice, because the interior is great, but the exterior isn't.
