My partner and I went into Cottage Cafe on a whim and we’re so glad we did! The service was fantastic, and our food arrived to our table super quickly. We left with the last slice of coconut cream pie (it was delicious). We will definitely be back!
I loved having lunch at this little cottage! The service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly and attentive. Food came out fast and fantastic sandwiches and salads! Loved the chicken salad sandwich and they did not shy away from the meat! But let’s talk about the real gem of this place…the dessert! Oh my heavenly goodness! Lots of mouthwatering options! Ordered takeout as our first time here. A small house that is open for lunch and they close at 2:30 pm. They have been in business for 31 years. You get big desserts here at a reasonable price. My hamburger ( I think salt and pepper could gone a long way) had no flavor and the dessert was ok. My wife liked her food. They cater to an older crowd and may explain the food flavor. The service was outstanding and a women run operation. Since it was our first time they comped out dessert which was outstanding. Read in one review the BLT is good here, so will try that next time.

Barb, a server, at Cottage Cafe in Middletown is one of the sweetest women that I've been blessed to meet. I chipped a tooth while I was there Friday. It already had a crack in it and it was on its last leg. It had nothing do do with my favorite meal, chicken salad and tomato dill soup. After that happened, I still had over half of my meal left. She boxed it for me and told me to take some deep breath's.....she also pointed out that I left my sunglasses at the table. I was so blessed to have met her because she was a ray of sunshine Hopefully you ca check it out!!! ***Alert!!!! They have the best deserts I have ever tasted. My favorites are the strawberry roll with whipped cream icing as ton of fresh strawberries. Also, for chocolate the cake with the toffee icing is amazing and their Tuxdo is amazing. Some days they will have posed to...coconut, Yummy!!! If you want one with your meal to eat in or carry out, order your choices before you leave...they may be sold out by the time you get to the register*** Sarah

This used to be a great spot to visit on lunch breaks many years ago. Now, I think it's overpriced for what you get. I had the hot brown but it was mostly cheese and a dinky open face sandwich. My husband wasn't impressed with his club for the price. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was the same from years ago. It's nice they're consistent at least.
