You have to stop by for the sandwiches alone!! I ordered the sweet & Smokey melt and this was hands down THE BEST sandwich I’ve ever had!! We were only in town for a basketball game, one of the parents was bragging about their sugar cookies (they give first timers one free too) ! I am so jealous of the locals having such a gem locally. We made sure to stock up with lunch, honey buns, fresh baked bread, no bake cookies & the kiddos wouldn’t leave without a cake pop! Everything we bought was amazing and the staff so was friendly. I can’t say enough great things about this place! We will definitely be back!!

I stopped in today as I was in town for a dental appointment. Oh my goodness. I picked up a sausage and cheese scone…make sure you get it heated up! I wish I had gotten more than one!

I used to go here often when I was a college student. I was in town today and had the chance to take my girls for their first visit. They were super sweet to them, gave them a cookie for their first visit, and even asked them what they wanted for Christmas. I’ve always loved their cookies and now my girls have asked to stop there the next time we are in the area. I have to eat gluten free now and loved the gluten free treat I purchased. I highly recommend Root-a-Bakers! Excellent customer service and bakery items.

Roor-A-Backery has a beautiful outdoor seating area with charming metal chairs and flowers, perfect for enjoying the sun. The indoor seating is cozy too, and their food was delicious! It would be great if they offered more vegan options as well. People are very friendly :)

I go here nearly daily, if not then every other day. I love them! The food is always WONDERFUL, and so is the service! The owner is such a beautiful soul, inside and out! Everyone makes me feel so welcome! I would definitely consider them friends!♡

This place was so cute and so delicious!! We stopped through on our way to Bloomington In and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend the broccoli salad, and the white sourdough bread they used to make the sandwiches was phenomenal. I don’t usually leave reviews but I loved this place and hope they thrive! Cherry on top was how kind they were and the cookbook with recipes from restaurants across Kentucky!

Just happened to stumble on this little gem... They had the best drip coffee.... The blueberry lemon muffin was the best I've ever had.... The cookies are iconic & delicious... Service was great... conversation with the gentleman was wonderful....

I had a cake made for my sister’s 30th Birthday. They worked so hard to make the cake perfect and in great time. It was delicious. Everyone in the family complemented the taste and how good it looked. I would definitely recommend this place.

Beyond disappointing!!!
Drove 2 hours ( round trip) to sit outside, and eat with everything either paper, plastic or styrofoam!!! So much for the environment!!
Was every plate, fork and glassware thrown away during Covid?
Will never be back or recommend it again to anyone!!!!!!!!!

This was the first time I ate at this bakery and cafe. it was excellent! I ordered the Hokie Artichokie, which is a grilled deli turkey sandwich with provolone, tomato, and a creamy spinach and artichoke spread. It comes with chips, which can be substituted with a cup of soup or a signature salad. I chose sweet mango peach tea to drink which was so good! I purchased a strawberry iced sugar cookie to eat later. It was fresh and delicious. Service was exceptional!

A trip to Root-a-Bakers is always a treat for the palette and the soul. The chicken salad is hands down the best ever. the baked goods are all amazing. But, my favorites are the ginger molasses cookies and the mini French coconut pie. The pie crust is so flaky and absolute perfection. The filling is a perfect bite of coconut goodness, with the toasted coconut crunch on top and the gooey vanilla filling. A Perfect bite. The ginger molasses cookies are soft, chewy, spicy love. The entire staff is wonderful and always make me feel like I am their top priority no matter how busy they are. They give all the customers that same special treatment. My favorite place to visit when I am in Morehead, KY.
