We stopped by this cute little bakery today by recommendation from a waitress at a local restaurant, and so glad we did! The staff was so friendly and very helpful with questions about sugar-free options, which were so good! They definitely have something for everyone. If we are back that way, we will definitely stop again. Thanks for the great customer service and delicious sweet treats. On a local friend's suggestion, I stopped in here for lunch. I ordered half a chicken salad BLT and a cup of cactus chili. Both were amazing! They have a really wide selection of breads for the sandwiches.

What they are known for are the bakery items and I'll tell you what... phenomenal. This is the best carrot cake I've ever had in my life. We also got the Artichoke Sandwich and Loaded baked potato soup. The sandwich was very good. However the soup was a little underwhelming, they need to add some flavor! Maybe try Dill. All in all, glad we stopped in.

Root-A-Bakers is a gift to Morehead KY. They have fantastic baked goods, but they have even greater attitudes and hearts. I visited for the first time, and they made sure we all got a free cookie, and they did an excellent job packing a breakfast to go, with our pickup. Their baked goods are tasty, and their scone breakfast sandwich is delicious! The best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, period!The prices are fantastic for what you get as well. We got two scone sandwiches that were MASSIVE, four muffins and 2 additional scones for cheaper than you would find at a fast food establishment.They have a good selection of food items for brunch/lunch as well!

I just can't say enough about this place, the service was perfect, the food was perfect and the prices very reasonable. I highly recommend this place and although I live 2 hours away I will always stop by here whenever I am close by.

I ordered a special cake for my wife's birthday a few days in advance. Unfortunately, when I arrived to pick it up, I was told that the order had been forgotten. Although I was deeply disappointed, I understand that things like this happen from time to time.The lady at the counter apologized profusely and attempted to make amends. I was then contacted buy who I assume was the owner or manager also apologizing and trying to help me any way she could.Even though I didn't get what I'd hoped for, I would be foolish not to recommend Root-A-Bakers to everyone. Their level of commitment to customer satisfaction and the courtesy I was shown isn't seen often these days and it really makes a world of difference.I will continue to buy treats provided by Root-A-Bakers from a friend's coffee shop and when I eventually make my way back to Morehead, I'll make sure to stop in again.
I was visiting Morehead, and wanted to find a bakery. This was ranked among the top so I had to try it. As soon as you walk-in you're hit with the wonderful smell of the food. The place has two rooms filled with goodies. I was greeted as soon as I moved in and was given recommendations. Ultimately I ended up ordering the following items: honeybun cake, chicken salad, no bake chocolate oats cookie, and the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage patty. I didn't get a chance to try the honeybun cake because my guy ate it lol. Although he did said it was really good. I enjoyed everything else, but the breakfast sandwich was AMAZING!! The croissant was soft and buttery, eggs were scrambled to perfection, and sausage patty is always good! Honestly, happy I don't live in Morehead because this place would take all my money on the croissant alone. lol. Whether you live in Morehead, visiting, or just passing through it is a MUST try!!

Stopped for lunch. Got inside ordered my food and was waiting, Then to be told to leave and couldn't make my sandwich because someone ordered some cupcakes and they would close down the rest day. Just overall surprised by the rudeness! Most people are only allotted 20 minutes for lunch.

Everyone knows about the phenomenal sugar cookies, but have you had the cinnamon rolls! Sweet, light and perfect amount of cinnamon! They will even give you additional icing if you think you can handle it... not recommended! The staff are always helpful and will do all they can to help if your needs are immediate! The new big cookie is a game changer for those who want cookie cakes
