Service was great. The truffle fries were perfect. Also had the shrimp scampi which was great. It was the perfect meal. Highly suggest it if you're in town. Due to work I've been based in town for multiple weeks. I try coming once a week. I would also recommend the bruschetta, lemon caper salmon, and the poboy. All were delicious.

Dining at Romero's isn't a typical restaurant experience. It is more akin to attending an outstanding family dinner party. The staff is attentive, funny, and friendly; the owners are hands on with guests. And the food is absolutely remarkable, obviously crafted with great care and high standards of quality.

My wife and I love this place! The staff are very friendly and the food is out of this world. I can’t believe they aren’t packed 24/7. The owner and his son can’t be beat. They make the food greasy and source all they can locally. If you want great Italian food at a great price this is it. As far as portions go you will leave stuffed. With an appetizer, 2 huge plates, 2 salads, and 2 drinks we spent 1/3 less then if we had driven to Lexington and had better food and service. When you stop be sure to check out the lounge and huge signed guitar collection. If you’re local or from out of town you need to come in.

Been in Mt. Sterling a few days for work, glad I ate here before I left, definitely one of the better restaurants in town. Had the Po Boy- tasty, loaded with flavor, and well portioned. Will recommend to all my other colleagues who stop by here!

I’m writing this while waiting for the check. This was our first time trying this restaurant since moving to Mt. Sterling. There are only two other tables here with people at this time and two waitresses which seem to be going to both tables. The meal started well. The waitress was nice and took our orders quickly. The food also came out quickly. However, this was the last we seen the waitress. We had the entire meal needing a drink refill. Our cups were empty when she dropped off the food. We hadn’t noticed at that point or we would have asked. The waitress walked by many times, stocking silverware at the host stand and standing at the bar talking to the bar tender. We waited also too long on the check, which was the only time the waitress came back after giving us our food (which at that point my husband’s water and soda were both empty). The girl was nice but it was obvious the whole time we were eating that neither of us had drinks.
We were also asked when we left the restaurant if the meal was ok by someone who was outside with a group of people. We assume it was the manager/possible owner. We didn’t tell her about the experience at that point because we didnt want to make things awkward or get anyone in trouble. But we left disappointed and thirsty to say the least. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜…

Appetizer, salad, and entree were all excellent! Looking forward to trying so many other menu offerings! Our server was welcoming, knowledgeable and efficient, and the owner was very kind and appreciative.
Got the meatball sandwich. Took a while and the meatballs were pretty dry but the sauce they use is amazing. Like really really good. Not the most visually appealing presentation, but will order again just for that sauce.

I stumbled into Romero's during Court Days in 2025, and it turned into one of the highlights of my entire trip through OK, AR, MO, and TN. From the moment I walked in, the energy was electric, all friendly locals and staff that makes you feel very welcome.
George, the co-owner, is an absolute legend; his energy sets the tone, and you can tell his son Seth runs the kitchen with the same precision. It shows in every bite: the Smoke 'n Spice Salmon was straight-up perfection...smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor. Paired with a side salad of noticeably fresh ingredients the crisp greens show they take no shortcuts, and it was topped with the best balsamic dressing I have ever had (tangy, sweet, unforgettable.
Even as a non-margarita guy, the Blackberry Margarita was delicious. I was told that and the Old Fashion are their two top sellers. Shoutout to Billie behind the bar has a personality that lit up the place, cracking jokes and mixing drinks like a pro. All at eight months pregnant! What a champ!
If you're passing through Mt. Sterling and skip this spot, you are doing yourself and your crew a major disservice. Come hungry, leave happy. Already plotting my return! Probably tonight.
P.S. - I went back tonight and got the Vodka with Shrimp. I also got to meet Becca today and she was as amazing as the rest of the team...and she liked my shoes! (You had to be there haha)
