The service here is 100/10 everyone is so kind and welcoming. We were giving free samples of their limited time ice cream, if you’re thinking about trying it get it before it’s gone!!! The food is amazing. The pizza is cooked in a wood stove and has that amazing flavor.

I am a new resident in Mount Sterling. Several people in town recommend Tomatoes & Flames. I am very happy to report that the restaurants reputation is well deserved. There is something of a wait because they make the pizzas fresh to order, but we were given a bowl of popcorn to snack on during the wait. Both my kids said the pizza was excellent and my daughter thought it was cool that she could see her pizza baking in the brick oven. The chili was very good and the beer selection was impressive for such a small restaurant. 2 of the 8 inch pizzas, 2 soft drinks, a bowl of Chili and a beer came in around $40. The decor is full of pop culture gems and a huge brass chandelier.
Overall a very enjoyable experience, we will definitely be visiting again soon. My wife has an allergy to one of the preservatives in many mass produced pizza sauces in the chain restaurants and I was very happy to hear that Tomatoes & Flames makes their own sauce in house. So if you are sensitive to preservatives, like my wife, this is definitely a safe place eat. Staff was very friendly.
If you are in Mount Sterling's historic downtown district I would highly recommend this place for a very enjoyable lunch or dinner.

Really enjoy this place. Service is really good. The pizza is great if you like wood fired pizzas. Doesn't always have some of the qualities I expect from wood fired pizzas like char and and signs of a higher heat cook. Still worth stopping in and grabbing some lunch or dinner with the family.

I've always loved tomato and flames up until the past month. I tried multiple times to come thru the door in my wheelchair and could not make it, their entrance is really weird. My wheelchair did move their rug they had in the front door and instead of offering me any assistance a gentleman come out and seemed very annoyed that I moved their rug runner thing. He adjusted it and went back in the store and never said a word to me. Completely not handicapped friendly and will not be back.

Our first time visiting. Went for their occasional 4 course menu but we tried the pizza too. Everything was good, and the staff was very friendly. Service was a little slow, probably due to the special menu that evening. We didn't mind. We were hanging with friends.

We came on 8-22-25 we were unaware of a special dinner special that they had when we got to the counter to order. They still took our order. They were out of a few things that we wanted but were able to find a substitute. We were not told that it would take a certain amount of time to prepare our food. Had we known ahead of time how long the wait would have been we would have went somewhere else. We waited over an hour and a half for our food and ended up having to take it to go because it took so long. When we got our food it was sub par. The garlic knots were dry with not flavor or garlic, the calzone we ordered was also dry. The pasta was lacking in flavor, as this was our second choice. Upon ordering we thought we would give the second options a try. When they came out we were highly disappointed. I understand they had a special reservation menu ( we learned this when we got to the restaurant) if we had been notified ahead of time the amount of time that it would take to have our order sent to our table we would have declined and went somewhere else. The lack of service was subpar and we will not be going back. We spent a good amount of money for our food and the subpar service and food quality was not matched to what we paid. Had we been told upon ordering the long wait time we would have declined and went somewhere else. When a restaurant has a special menu/event they should notify customers walking in to order what is to be expected. We arrived 2 hours before the restaurant was to close and we spent way past the time the restaurant closed to get our food wanting to eat there only to take it home. Very disappointing

I’ve never left a bad review for a restaurant in my entire life, but this was probably the worst experience I’ve had at an Italian restaurant. We’ve wanted to eat there for some time and finally decided to try it. I was there with 2 other people and they brought the first plate out and then waited about 10 minutes for the next and then never brought out the third. We had to go ask for it because they forgot. Then the food was inedible. The chicken on the buffalo chicken sandwich and in the chicken Alfredo is from a can and had 0 flavor and was mushy. The pizza was undercooked, doughy, and all of the toppings fell off anytime you picked up a slice. We were excited to try this place, but we were very disappointed. They did apologize and give us a refund but we will not come back.

Incredible slow service. Took an hour to get our pizza when there where only 6 other people in the restaurant. Would not recommend
Delicious Wood Fire pizza. Great relaxing dining experience. All of the employees that were there were friendly and extremely helpful. We split a pizza and large salad for lunch and it was more than enough for the three of us. We will be back!
Best pizza in Town, great service and fast at preparing your order
