I got the bbq pork on a plate with fried okra and baked beans. My husband ordered the back porch dog (Cole slaw on the side) with fried cornbread and fries. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and the price was $35 for both, including drinks. Hope to have a chance to stop here again in the future!
Take your time and go out of the way to have a meal here. It’s 11 minutes off the highway but well worth the trip. The restaurant is located on the lake and the back porch is overlooking the boat dock and a fishing area and calm setting. Now for the food, the pulled pork barbecue was excellent. I had the Smokehouse murder, which was a thick Angus beef burger with pulled pork, bacon, cheese, and ran through the garden. Definitely a place to go back to for good down home barbecue.
What a great place! Took a chance on this hidden gem and can't wait to return. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch and the place was very comfortable. The Hog Trough is over the top and out of this world!!
