We were students at Murray State University and Shaffer was always our favorite place to go for a fun morning in between classes or to go on the weekends. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, it makes for a cozy hangout or work place. The staff is the best—so friendly and welcoming. Best coffee we have ever had. We have now moved away and living in a Major city but still talk about Shaffer being the best coffee shop we have ever been to! You can tell they put a lot of care and effort into their drinks and bakery goods. I’ve heard that the syrups they make themselves so they taste way better than some coffee shops that just use the generic syrup brands. We would always love trying the seasonal drinks they have. So much fun! Highly recommend stopping here even if you’re just visiting or driving through.

Amazing place. I go with my son every Saturday. I love the cinnamon roll and he loves the plain bagle with cream cheese. And don't forget the drinks. Turtle for me hot or iced and he gets the chocolate milk. I heard their ice hot chocolate is good too.

We were not greeted when entering or approaching the counter to order. Sure it was busy but it takes 0 effort to welcome someone. Also coffee was gross. I don’t think it has to do with the baristas but rather the beans. Tasted like peanut husks. Would not recommend. Spent $15 to throw it away shortly after my first sip.
