I'm from Nicholasville. Born and raised there now at age 67. I've eaten here when it was opened by John Barber, and over the changes since then.

I ordered a club sandwich a while back. It was more than I could eat! I had to carry out half. Suzie was a wonderful server (who I've known for years); cuts up with me and my mom.

It's a nice home-town place to eat. They struggle to keep prices down, but the quality of the food is ALWAYS great.

It's a little slower paced than some, but the staff bust's their butts. There's always going to be exceptions, but in whole, great place.

This place has only been reopened after renovations for about a month. My wife and I were excited to get back to see the new look and enjoy some good food but we're disappointed with the new food quality. They have put in a food bar where you can choose from it or order off of a limited menu. Breakfast used to be served all day but now is cut off at a certain time. My wife loved their open face roast beef but was very disappointed. The gravy has changed and did not taste as good as before. I myself ordered a patty melt and didn't get a patty melt. The 2 items that make it a patty melt was not even offered. Usually when you order a patty melt it comes on rye bread and served with thousand island dressing. They had neither one. I pretty much got a cheeseburger on Texas toast. Very disappointed and we have decided we probably won't be back which is unfortunate because it was always good for a meal on the fly with good atmosphere. Whoever thought out this new an didn't think it through, or so it seems!

Do not go here. We ordered simple breakfast took over an hour to get food. The eggs were way undercooked and the sasuge patties were so over cooked eating a piece of charcoal would have been more appealing.

The new dinner bar was great. I had the Salisbury steak and mashed taters with blackberry cobbler. Great food and fast service

😀 they are turning it into a cafeteria style cafeteria not to sure it will do well here in town.
I was disappointed in the breakfast this morning. When I got it, it was not hot. My toast was not lightly toasted like I ordered either. I feel sorry for the servers whom have been there so long.

At least the servers are the best ; and now offer to reach up and pull the switch on the fans directly over your table. Now a hot breakfast stays warm a bit longer.
Improving.

I was impressed with the amount of meat in the breakfast sampler. The hash brown casserole is awesome! Even with delivery, it arrived hot.

We've been here for breakfast many times. The food is always great and the service is friendly and fast. Prices are good and the portions are more than big enough.
