We stayed at a cabin for thanksgiving and couldn’t have asked for better! The food and staff were absolutely amazing, very well done.

My family and I come here yearly to visit family, we love this campground! Can’t wait to see what it looks like next year. Hopefully horseback riding is up and running as well, it was my birthday weekend and I was a little disappointed it wasn’t opened. Caves were great so wish the haunted tour was on Saturday instead of Thursday! Ziplines would be a cool addition. We’ll see you next year Carter Caves!
The most beautiful and peaceful place we have visited. relaxed atmosphere with plenty for kids to do. Everyone here has been so friendly and kind. I have 2 happy rambunctious kiddos ready for daily excitement.

Carter Caves State Resort Park offers a captivating natural experience for visitors. The park features a variety of unique geological formations, including the impressive Natural Bridge and the intriguing Fern Bridge. While the on-site lodge may not meet all expectations, the park itself is widely praised for its beautiful scenery and outdoor activities, such as hiking the 3 Bridges trail. The lodge, established in 1981, provides a cozy stay despite some squeaky floors and a musky smell, and all rooms have doors leading outside with balconies that offer forest views. The restaurant downstairs, Tierney’s Restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with breakfast being especially praised as "AMAZING" and dinner described as "very tasty." Recent visitors appreciated the excellent service, friendly staff, and the quality of the rooms, which featured laminate flooring and comfortable beds with good linens. Guests enjoy activities like cave tours, gem mining at the Welcome Center, horseback rides, and camping, though some amenities like the putt-putt course and campsites may be less maintained. Visitors also look forward to new additions such as ziplines and possibly more horseback riding options. Overall, Carter Caves State Resort Park is a scenic and adventurous destination, ideal for older children and adults who enjoy hiking, caving, and relaxing in nature.
