Food is not what I expected, however it is probably fine with the locals that grew up eating it, just not my cup of tea

It's really a great long running old business , that does business right. I usually eat a egg sandwich, which is delicious by the way.

An iconic spot in our town, it’s been here for as long as I can remember. Go back in time to the 50’s where a burger and fries were shared with friends at outdoor seating.
Best soft serve ice cream in owensbor. Nothing beats a chocolate vanilla swirl cone.

Great burgers, shakes, and anything else you get here. There may be a wait, but it's worth it especially since they stayed taking cards.

food is always good but this place pre inserts straws into customers drinks and this is disgusting. most health codes discourage bare hand contact with utensiles, and regardless if this locations doesn't prohibit it, it is vile and gross.
someone could wipe their hand over their sweaty face, the cash register people also touch disgusting dirty bills and dirty change all day long and cannot wash their hands 24/7. whoever inserts the straws regardless of their position can still have bacteria on their hands.
a worker told my mother that they train them never to touch the tip end of the straw, and to grab from the middle, but regaurdless, the sodas will touch the middle of the drink because they are filled to the top, and nobody fills a soda half way full.
there is no way to deny that this practice is gross and potentially damaging to the publics health.
the workers should not be inserting our straws and we should be allowed to insert them ourselves. they could plave them in the bag with our food with a paper towel over the part they are touching, or simply wear gloves while handling the straws.
really hope they figure out something with their straws. they usually wrap a paper towel around my straw and let me put it in, but the fact still remains that i have seen them place it in with their bare hands and continue to do so. didnt make this review to damage the buisness reputation or discourage anyone from coming here. the food is always great, but health and safety come first before food.

My fries were very cold and hard. The cheeseburger was ok but fries were disgusting.
I finally got to the Big Dipper when it wasn't packed. I bought a burger, onion rings, and small tea. The food was good, not amazing, but good. The service was great and the food was ready very quickly. What sucks is the location, you're standing on the side of a busy highway listening to cars fly by. Would I go again? Sure, but only if I was already in the area.
Prices were great but quality of the food was a bit lacking. Not sure what kind of meat the burger was, chili on chili dog was mostly beans. Glad it wasn't more expensive or I would have given less than 4 stars. For the price it was edible but I'd rather pay more for better food. Slushie was good.
Where I am from pigs in a blanket isn't stuffed with cheese or wrapped with bacon or even on a hot dog bun. they had absolutely no advertisement to show us that their version is something completely different. i ordered 5 of them so i paid $15. Mind yiu once I realized this (because my kids are allergic to cheese), I pulled back up and the manager on duty refused to make anything right. I lost $15 and my kids got absolutely nothing to eat. she refused to make us something else or just give us our money back. she proceeded to call the police and come outside her and this younger black woman and scream at my wife the woman literally yelled at my wife to come outside the car to fight her. Horrible experience. if you guys have this terrible of customer service I don't see how you are in business. so thanks again for keeping my 15 and leaving my kids hungry.
