So my 85 year old mother and my daughter and her two kids and I went today for the lunch special granted my grandkids are 9 and 11 my grandson sat beside of me he ate good lol 3 bowls of potato soup and about a plate and a half of salad. Like any kid he got on his phone and I only had an app a couple of times maybe 3 I took a fork and ate some of his salad he was full they were going to throw it away anyway. When our bill came they charged me for an extra salad bar thinking it was a mistake my daughter went to pay the bill ask the cashier about it and the server said she saw me eat off his plate they said sharing isn’t allowed really 3 bites of a salad bar we paid for the cashier was rude. Trust me we have been long time customers we will not go back if times are that hard at the Briar Patch !!

My daughter and I went here tonight for dinner. We live about an hour or so away and was in town so we tried them out. OMG, the service and food were amazing!!! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and ever so tender. Our waitress was Alice, if you come be sure to ask for her because she's awesome! Thanks again and we will be back if we ever have to come to Owensboro again.

Visited with part of my family on Sunday Oct 11. Party of 7. Three of us got prime rib..medium. I asked server when ordering what med would get me. She said hot pink center. When I saw mine I knew it was way overcooked. Cut into it and it was well done. I showed the server. She said that's overcooked. I, along with grandson waited for our steaks. She had forgot to turn his order in. The manager brought my second one...it was the exact same. She said the prime rib had been cooked too long PRIOR to throwing on grill. She offered ribe eye or anything else. By THAT time everyone was practically finished eating. Come to find out my husband and son, who also got same...and didn't want to say anything also had well done. They took 3-4 dollars off the grandsons meal and mine. It was a very 90 minute drive and very disappointing meal for the price...$210 with tip. The salad bar was EXCELLENT!! Atmosphere was nice...but we were crowded at the table they sat us at.

Service was great, restaurant itself was definitely older and dimly lit. While low light can be nice, it wasn’t in this setting. I ordered the 20oz honor brigade ribeye and for the price I was disappointed. I’ve had much better ribeyes for much less than $70+. It wasn’t bad by any means but not what i expected from that price. Salad bar was great though along with the strawberry butter and bread!

Our first time eating here after hearing good things about Briarpatch for years. We were not disappointed. Arrived a little before 4pm and had a short wait to be seated. Quick service for our drink orders and bread with some great strawberry butter. Large salad bar with lots of choices, everything was fresh. I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. Best steak I've had in a long time. Will probably just have the salad bar on our next visit to sample everything they have to offer.

Excellent food and service! The salad bar is wonderful. A lot of items to choose from, all fresh ingredients. The warm bread with strawberry butter was amazing. We usually get the steak tips, which are always tender and delicious. This place is one of Owensboro’s finest! Highly recommend!

The salad bar id varied, 2 sided the steak was ordered medium rare. Served tepid. Flavorful, the rice pilaf is VERY bland. The strawberry butter is unique.
