I’m not from KY. But, I came to this place specifically on the way from mammoth cave after looking at the reviews although it was an additional 110 mile drive. The best food I ever had. Their Mac and cheese is to die for. Their BBQ is just amazing. No words. The owner is really sweet. The staff are friendly. I wish I stay in Owensboro so I can eat here every single day. BBQ mutton and burgoo soup were simply outstanding. The ambience is pretty good too. Love love love!
I traveled from 2hrs away to have Moonlite for the first time...will probably be the last. There was nothing to complain about, but also not much to praise. Everything was kinda bland, which was surprising. I enjoyed the people and place, but the food fell short of impressive. As I said, nothing to complain about, just not particularly noteworthy either.

OK, this place blew my socks off. I had gotten the bbq buffet. I have never had buffet style food that was this good. Was very busy. However if you have good food you have a lot of people that want it. If I had a 6th star I would give it to them. Bravo guys braaavoo.Parking: Plenty of room to park. Even with the restaurant full.

We showed up with a very large group bit luckily this place is huge and was able to seat us without issue. I only got the buffet so no idea how the menu food is. The buffet was not worth it IMO. There were 3 or 4 choices of bbq meat, chopped brisket, chopped mutton, pork. It tasted like a buffet. The sides were all pretty bland, wattery, and mushy. This place looks like it has been here for a very long time, but the locals seem to love it. Just not the quality of bbq I like. The service was good considering how large of a group we had.
