The experience and food were mediocre. The staff aren’t very friendly and the buffet is expensive for the very few options that is on it. It costs ~$18 per person and the buffet is extremely small and food not fresh. When we visited, it was not that busy yet the staff were not attentive. I’d rather make the drive to Louisville for better Afghani food and service.

Showed up Sun and sat down with the greatest group of friends I've ever met. They make you feel like family. Spot on for the hospitality I received when I was overseas. Khaibar my friend is a great host.

Atmosphere was country but the food was big buss,,, we traveled pretty far to try it, the rice with the green or white sauce on top was amazing, all the meats were perfectly cooked.Oh and the potato stuffed flatbread was great too! It was so thin the potatoes caught me by surprise but it was good .

An afghani restaurant in northern Kentucky? Glad we ordered takeout from Pamir. Try the combination to get a good taste of what they have to offer. I recommend the bolani, manto, eggplant, okra, and palaw. Delicious food, wish we sat inside to try the tea service. Nice people. A nice change for normal night in Owensboro. Look forward to trying the kebabs.

Last Sat. evening was our 1st visit to Pamir. We were really looking forward to experiencing Afghan Cuisine. Boy, were we DISAPPOINTED ! We arrived about 7 & were seated quickly as we were the only ones there. We were not spoken to again until we went to pay our bill. They went back to playing video games , talking , listening to music & eating ( food they had brought to work with them). We went over to the buffet to realize there were no labels. We are vegetarian & found it difficult to determine if things had meat in it or not. The food did not look fresh or appetizing (except for the rice). In fact, after watching a video on FB I'm pretty positive it was Fridays leftovers. Things were dry & over cooked (except for the rice ). There was small quantity & nothing fresh was brought out. After eating we spent some time enjoying the Windy Hollow memorabilia ( the best part ).I feel they make up times & prices as they go along. When I called ,I was told they close @ 9 & buffet was $15. Checking out we were $18 each plus drink. They also charged us for 1 to many buffets .They locked the doors as soon as we walked out (shortly after 8.). Needless to say we were VERY DISSATISFIED & DISAPPOINTED. It was ABSOLUTELY not worth the $$$.

The rice is perfect.
Vegetarian options: Probably requestable as well, if asked. Gholpi is so good...my son said it was one of the best things he's eaten so he figured out how to make it himself.

What a fun experience to try out a new cuisine. The food was flavorful and different from most cuisines I've tried. The staff were very friendly, but you could tell we might have arrived early. We were the first people there other than what looked like either family or friends of the owners eating at another table. Once we received our menus and started looking over them, it was difficult to decide what to order. However, the waiter came over and suggested the buffet so you could try everything. We took him up on it and enjoyed quite a variety of healthy Afghan cuisine. The only strange part to the experience is that they are currently sharing space with another restaurant that operates on different days and times and the decor is theirs (antique Americano). I will definitely return to try a specific dish next time.

Nice to try something other than American food, especially after a holiday. Chicken, rice, okra, chickpeas and dumplings were good. A piece of bavlava was a good way to finish off the buffet.

Tried Afghan food for the first time. Very good. Waiter was very helpful with our choices for the tasting plate. Atmosphere vibe is a bit odd due to the building being an established restaurant with a more of a country style feel that is used at night for the Afghan restaurant. Very unique situation but very uplifting to read about. Do not see a 5 choice tasting plate listed but that is what we had.

Our experience at Pamir was fantastic. It was a little piece of Afghanistan in Owensboro. The music and dancing really added to the fun.We went on a buffet night, and we were able to sample it all! We liked everything that we tried. Even my kids enjoyed it.The staff members were very kind and willing to answer any questions.

4 of us went for dinner and were very disappointed. The buffet looked picked over. I had been assured through a FB message before we went that they could accomodate my gluten allergy. When I asked my server what on the buffet or menu was gluten-free he didn't know what I meant and he didn't offer to get anyone who could help. When i ordered off the menu--murgh biryani-- it was supposed to have 4 pieces of chicken, fries and salad. I had to ask for 2 of the 4 pieces of chicken and the salad. My husband ordered off the menu also and his meal came out without the salad. The food was mediocre--lacking in flavour with no type of presentation. Our food didn't come out together. We had to get up and find our server to get our check. Not the pleasant dining experience I was looking forward to.
