By far, The Famous Bistro is mine and my husbands most favorite place to eat! The food is absolutely amazing! The chef is by far the greatest! Service is always excellent no matter what day or time you go. This is my go-to place for date nights, girls nights, or just a quick yummy lunch! 100% recommend!

rude people rude service ! rude waiter
It's a little quirky, and not the best place to order a martini, but...the food is AMAZING! Try it out.

Made a reservation days in advance and when we arrived, they sat us at the bar where we could see cooking and dish washing. It was never mentioned that we would have to sit at the bar when we made the reservation and the restaurant was completely empty at our early 5p reservation. We left and only got a half ass apology.
I've always loved The Famous Bistro! Every meal I've eaten here has been delicious and the service is always exceptional.

Service was fast and the staff was extremely friendly. I tried the meatball linguine, it was okay, but nothing to write home about. Would probably visit again and try a different dish.

My husband, and I,went to Famous Bistro to celebrate his 71st birthday. I had the. Braised Pork Chop, absolutely delicious, everything about my meal was great. My husband had the Salmon, he said it was delicious, and would order it again.
Our waitress was very helpful offering ideas for dinner, very sweet, and pleasant.
The whole evening was great!!

This restaurant was an outstanding find using Google Maps. It is a bit upscale but still casual. The food was excellent. You may not have to have a reservation but it is a good idea. We were seated without one, but they cautioned us that it is unusual. The service was excellent. The entire place is kept very clean and tidy. There is plenty of free parking in the area along city streets and parking garages and most is free.

Nice restaurant with wholesome food. I enjoyed the tuna melt and they had a nice Arnold Palmer made with unsweetened iced tea. It is a casual restaurant for lunch.

4 of us ordered different dishes and all agreed it was very good. My only problem was the prices on some of the menu items were way out of line. $55 for 4 large Scallops might sit OK in NYC but not in Owensboro, KY, the heart of rural Bourbon country.
Also, the service staff needs a little more training. You don't walk over to a patron about to put a fork in her mouth and say can I take your plate. The obvious answer is no fool can't you see i am still eating.

I've been here twice before. Sat outside once and had salad. Not bad, nothing special. Big dinner party the second time, the restaurant treated us like royalty. Very impressive. That's why I suggested it this time. The restaurant was filled to capacity and I felt like I had to yell to be heard. I missed almost half of the dinner conversation because the place was so noisy. The photo on the right is pesto sauce, made with basil. The photo on the left is the dish they served me and said it was a sun dried tomato pesto over penne pasta. If the description had said it was a red tomato sauce, I wouldn't have bothered to try it.

We came here for our 10yr anniversary we had the crab cakes to start. I highly recommend you try them sweet and savory not salty or fishy but clean.
My wife had the bourbon chicken plate the chicken was moist and tender everything else in her plate was seasoned to perfection.
I had the steak gorganzola it was deliciously savory and creamy with a lil touch of pleasant funk the gorganzola and a zestyness from the dried tomatoes. aside from my steak not being medium rare like i had asked it was still tender and very well seasoned i would definitely recommend this dish.
I had brought up that my steak was overcooked and she offered dessert to make up for it. Wasn't a huge deal since my dish was very tasty but whos gonna turn down free dessert come on!
We had the tierramassu it was nice not too sweet and the espresso soaked cake was great..
Our server was a star she made sure our cups were full even with it being dinner rush.
Our over all experience here was great.
We will be back again!!!
Thank you guys!!!
