Pig in a Poke Paintsville

I know it's technically a BBQ joint, but we really just wanted a burger and fries. Service was fairly quick, but the fries were too dark and so salty you couldn't even eat them. I tried wiping the salt off, but it did no good. The burger was hot and cooked correctly, but also salty- tasted like garlic salt and I wish just once a restaurant would find a roll to stand up to a burger. This roll crumbled apart on the very first bite. Very disappointing meal. The business itself could also take a little more pride in appearance. Napkins and straw papers all over the floor and bathrooms that need some TLC and smelled of stale urine. My first impression was not a good one. I won't be back.

Cannot express how genuinely friendly they are.
Quickly seated, drinks, order taken, food arrived, refills, paid and tipped! Loved the brisket and the collard greens.
The pulled chicken already had sauce on it. Prefer just smoked, and can also try different sauces.
Good music level.
They have Pepsi products!

My 10 friends and I came out to Blaine for a cabin trip and decided to go out to dinner our first night. About a 40 minute drive from our cabin to the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and took very good care of us. I got the catfish taco with the Smokehouse Burger. I was amazed i got the burger rare, when I didn't tell them how I wanted it cooked... I usually get it cooked rare. Our group gave our waitress a very generous tip. Compliments to the cooks and waiting staff. One friend said he'd go back every night on our trip.

Good food and kind service!

One of my favorite places to eat. I like a good burger from time to time. The smoke house burger is my go to. You can't beat the flovor or size of this thing.

We ate here on Valentines Day. It was extremely busy but still the service was great, and we got our food fast! The food was delicious!! We love eating here!

Sat in for over 15 min and no one even come to give us drinks they were not busy they had 3 booths that already had there food! Very very disappointed we will not be back!

At the behest of an otherwise good friend of mine, I elected to ignore my better judgment and give this whole thing a try. Call it misplaced optimism- youthful senility or plain foolishness on my part, I promised myself that I would enter in to the spirit of it all and approach the experience with an open mind in order to develop mine own fair assessment. And this I did, truly, yet I have to be honest in my reporting when I say, very directly: while it may be the very thing which maintains a state of neutral buoyancy for the sailing craft of others… I fail to see the attraction to it.
My “friend”, had previously informed me that there are times when business at this establishment both waxes and wanes but in order to get the full benefit of my visit it would be imperative to attend the Friday evening event. Having no better sense than to believe everything I am told (Apparently) I did as instructed. The Missus and I were prepared for the throng of humanity cued in line for their thrill of a lifetime- and were undaunted when informed- after a two and a half hour investment of our time- that a further deposit of another two hours would be required before we too might have our turns to witness sheer awe and delight in a not well at all defined manner. I recommend to any other poor souls wishing to endure the trial as we did to ignore any such frivolous speak should they too be assured, “two hours is the MOST you should have to wait.” I say this because I am utterly convinced that either A: no one there actually owns a time piece of any sort what so ever- or- B: the entire staff are not only compulsive liars, in addition to being twisted sadistic fiends who derive their pleasure from watching people slowly starve to death.

The food was excellent with large portions. The deep fried pickles are excellent. We got the 3 Little Pig sliders and also the Catfish Nuggets. Excellent!

We shared the catfish nuggets/hushpuppies, with sides loaded potato salad and baked beans—all yummy. Wonderful cornmeal breading in the catfish, and tasty tartar sauce. For dessert we shared a slice of cheesecake with blackberry topping—delicious! Server was attentive and friendly. Great lunch experience!
