We noticed their sign when we exited for gas, so it’s real close to I71. It’s worth a visit of your interested in distilleries. They have an interesting history. It is a newer distillery with plenty of options from rye whiskey, wheated bourbons and flavored moonshine. The tastings were very good.
Went for a tour and tasting with family… had a wonderful time! Great selection and explanations on products.
The Rye Whiskey and Absinthe are two recommendations!
Our absolutely favorite distillery.... even if the bartender was judging us
Been wanting to stop in this distillery for some time. Finally got the chance and what a good time we had. Shawn was great . Very knowledgeable about the processes and has a great personality. Someone I could sit and talk to for hours. Thanks for the day and we will be back
Loved learning about the rich family history of the Neeley’s and the process of their distilling. Our tour guide Shawn was educational and entertaining!
Been into bourbon for years now. Was concerned because of the TV HYPE it wasn't going to be worth it..... I spent 5x more than expected, everything poured was AFRICKENMAZING. Highly recommend a tasting and buy ALL OF IT LOL.
We stopped in on our way north, definitely worth the stop! Shawn did a great tasting with my husband and I! Very knowledgeable and engaging. Thoroughly enjoyed this stop.
Just got back from a trip to KY and visited this place. What a great experience! Shawn took us on our tour and, despite being a Bengals fan, did an excellent job explaining everything, even letting us taste the mash. We met Royce, the owner, and he was exceptionally gracious, answering every question and showing us the lab area. His wife (who I forget her name) did our sampling and gave great insight on different versions of bourbon. All in all a 10/10 experience and will do it again. Thank you for your hospitality and great whiskey's!! And we will bring some black and gold for Shawn ;)
I’ve been at this distillery several times to buy cigars. Highly recommend it! The customer service is very good! Not a fan of their bourbon but will recommend the cigars for sure!
Shawn thanks for the fantastic tour. Are you sure you're not from Wisconsin! Highly recommend this tour....

Great spot, with good staff, although a little slow to take care of you. The tasting is reasonable, with lots of information, and extras. From a bourbon review, they try to overextend themselves with lots of gimmicky flavoured or experimental batches. The basic rye was, to me at least, their bread and butter. The moonshine was average at best. Prices were a little high, and I waited 10 minutes at the counter to buy two bottles, but put them back.
Stopped in hoping for a tasting since we didn’t book ahead and we were able to get onto a tour which was an awesome surprise!
Shawn was fantastic- definitely will be telling our friends and guests visiting the area to make this a must do stop.
I haven’t tasted a bit of their bourbon just yet because I am on my way back to Dayton Ohio. It was closing time, but the gentleman let me in and let me purchase a bottle and let me sit and enjoy the rocking chairs for a little bit on my journey from Huntsville, AL. Good place, highly recommended!!
We enjoyed our tour and tasting at Neeley Family. Our guide was friendly and fun and we loved the way they conduct their tastings. There are a wide variety of craft products to try and purchase. We hope to return in the future.. we heard they are working on a rum for future release. A trip to Neeley Family is a must when you are in the area.
These guys are like no others that we visited on our trip to the trail. I’m so happy we visited on the way home. The family story is just nuts but so is the distillery. So many products and variants from a distillery this size is amazing- 120 proof moonshine? Sure. Finished in a bourbon barrel? Sure. Flavored with horehound candy? Sure. Creamed and ready for your coffee? Sure. Damn fine single barrel bourbon and rye? Sure. Finished in a wine, rum or cognac barrel? Sure. Brandy? Sure. Platinum metal absinthe with a moonshine base? Sure.
I think you get the idea. Do yourself a favor and stop. Have a tasting and you’ll walk out with a lot of wonderful things!
