Friends and I had just gone on the train trip/tour and were looking for somewhere to eat. We stopped in to The Whistle Stop to check out the menu and stayed, we are so glad we did. The menu is varied and offers many options and the prices are very reasonable. The food was wonderful and so was the service. I highly recommend stopping by The Whistle Stop, you'll be glad you did.

Waited on food for a hours when I received my food I was leaving my biscut was not cooked all the way did not even get asked If I wanted a refill and got food poisoning along with some of my friends and i will not recommend to anyone and will not be back

My server took awhile to get to me. There was 1 another table occupied. When she got to me she recommended the Cajun fettuccine. I ordered it with steak. She did not ask how I wanted my steak cooked. When I unwrapped my fork there was dried food on it. When she brought my food she said thete is a new cook so hes making your bread now. I showed her the fork and asked for a clean one. She was obviously annoyed and returned to her friend at the back of the restaurant and started chatting. I stood and walked to the back whete I could see a pile of wrapped forks. She walked to the end and handed me on. The food was not great. The steak was so burned it would have contested a piece of charcoal . I took responsibility for that si ce i had not requested steak that was not burned. The 'Cajuns' dish tuned out to be onions and peppers sautéed with paprika sprinkled over the pasta. I was almost finished with my pasta when the server came over to see if I needed anything. I stated I would like my bread. She flippantly stated well I'm Not the cook. I told her I understand. A few minutes later sh reappeared with a piece of grilled toast and stated she just made it herself. I thanked her. I quickly finished my meal. Ileft a small tip only bc she had stopped talking to her friend long enough to make a piece of toast. This is the second and last time I will go to this place. I had much the same experience the first time but thought things happen.... I'll give it another shot. Wish I hadn't

Stopped in after the train ride. Places was dead, only a few other train riders. Took over 40min to get our dinner. Table left dirty, 2 sat uncleaned for 30 mins. After our waitress took our order she never checked on us. Once we got our food she never checked on us. My burger was fine but the fries tasted like 2 week old stale fired and cold. Only after we were done did she check on us for refills.
We then saw a waitress walking around with NO SHOES!!! talk about unsanitary! I'm sure the health department would love to know they walk around with no shoes.
If you rode the train maybe offer a discount. Every has a special stamp or their ticket.

We were the only ones in the restaurant and waited almost an hour for our food. There was five in our party and none of us liked the food-no taste whatsoever,even the pop tasted bad and my nachos and cheese chips were stale. We told our waitress and all she said was sorry and walked off. Won’t be going back.

This is decent place to eat. Nice sit down restaurant. I ordered tortellini carbonara. There was not one piece of bacon in it. Mentioned it to the server and she didn't appear to care at all. Would not order this pasta dish again.

Excellent staff! I had a delicious sandwich and my husband had a burger. Coffee is great too! This is a perfect stop before or after the train ride.

It USED to be a good place to eat. But this restaurant has went downhill.
I don’t know where they buy their meat from anymore, but the portions are small and the quality has dropped.
WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!
And that comes from eating there for years. But the food is so bad anymore that it’s just not worth eating here anymore.
For example, my son ordered a steak and it was the final straw. It was raw with blood coming out of it. It was ordered well done. It looked like the worst cut of steak I have seen in my life. My son couldn’t eat it.

Pretty good meal in an area where it seems good work ethic and moral standards is somewhat lower than most areas.
Sat at the bar, draft beer was fresh & cold. Fried green tomatoes were good. My buddy & I both had one of the chicken dishes and were pleased. I didn't get my fries but I got enough food in the main dish I didn't care. Bartender/waitress was a hoot & hustling.
Not much to choose from in this area but I'd stop back in even if there was.

We ordered to go and we're very disappointed. We ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich that says it's covered in caramelized onion and green peppers. Not one single onion or green pepper on either of the two sandwiches ordered! The sandwich was dry and lacked flavor as one might expect with only half of the ingredients. Of course we paid full price. Very disappointing.
