The food quality has really gone down over the years. Chicken has been awful every time. That has spread to the fish now. Sides are bland. Country ham is still good, as are the desserts. Service is hit or miss, but they seem to be mainly high school kids. Unfortunately the glory days are behind Lighthouse and I would not consider it for locals, much less destination dining.

This place is great! Consistent great tasting, home cooked food. Love the country ham, fish, potatoes, slaw, tomatoes, sweet tea... We've had a considerable wait in the past, but got straight in with absolutely no wait this last trip. Can't wait to go back!

There is never a time where I'm in the area that I don't stop by this place. It's been a favorite spot for many years. Not one thing to complain about other than I don't get to the area as often as I would like. Beautiful spot in the country and the park across the street was restful after eating.

Food was great! Service was even better. Building Could use a little feed facelift, but it sits across a cute, little park which I’m sure looks fanatic in the fall.

I wish it was a little more roomy, it is pretty tight quarters and can get loud. The food and service make up for it though.

This place has been written about in Kentucky Living Magazine and named a top non franchised restaurant. We were excited about going, just not going to be interested in going back. I had the fried fish plate and it was not nearly as good as Harpers in Scottsville, KY, plus my baked potato was only half cooked. The slaw was warm, which could be bad for getting something. It was crowded, although I have to wonder how many of them will be back, too. Count me out!

We have visited The Lighthouse in years past and looked forward to another visit. We were very disappointed. We each ordered the All You Can Eat family style meal. The plate of fish was very greasy, and had a pool of oil on the plate. The server commented that the fried chicken legs "were small". They were not legs/drumsticks; they were wing sections and were dry. The slaw was watery, and one of the fresh tomatoes had a black spot on it. The service was prompt. The country ham and biscuits, the potatoes and red eye gravy were good. I understand cutting back on food cost, but this meal quality was a definite decrease from our previous visit. If visiting, I recommend ordering a plate of exactly what you want. The All You Can Eat Family meal is not the value you would expect.
