It's been a while since I last set foot in Wings and Rings. I've always liked the place, but other nearby options usually won out. However, after moving to Union, I was thrilled to find it was one of the closer spots. The crowd was light when I arrived, but it was still early. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which is always a plus in my book.

I decided to order wings with a dry rub and some garlic parm fries. The food arrived in a reasonable time, piping hot, and the fries were absolutely delicious. I'd forgotten to ask for them to be extra crispy, like I usually do at BW's, but luckily it wasn't necessary—they were fried to perfection.

And then, alas, that's where the good times ended.

I had ordered the Nashville hot dry rub for my wings. But when the food was served, it was immediately clear that the wings hadn't been tossed in the rub; instead, they were merely powdered with it. Half the wings had little to no seasoning, and those that did only had seasoning on the side facing up.

In the end, I asked for some buffalo sauce to dip the wings in, just to add some flavor. I'm not one to send food back to the kitchen or request it be taken off my bill. This wasn't a quality issue—it was a technique issue. So, I ate the wings as they were.

It's a real shame because the service was excellent, and the food was hot—two things that are rare in the industry today. But poor technique ultimately ruined the experience.

I’f I make it back out this way again, I guess I’ll have them sauced instead.

Seems like if you get boneless wings when they first open they taste like they're from the day before......chewy...tough not as fresh.....just got ours from pick up...getting expensive and not as fresh...boneless might be going down hill...left overs from day before....love the mozzarella sticks

I recently visited Wings and Rings based on its 4+star rating on Google Maps, expecting a solid wing experience. Unfortunately, my visit did not live up to those expectations, and I would not consider this establishment worthy of the rating it has.

Online Ordering Woes

The experience began poorly when I attempted to place an order online. After going through the entire ordering process, I received an error message stating that I couldn’t complete my order. This forced me to call the restaurant directly. During the call, I discovered the pricing was different from what I had seen online. This led to a frustrating back-and-forth, culminating in having to speak with a manager. While they eventually resolved the pricing issue, the process was needlessly complicated. To their credit, they didn’t charge me until I picked up my order, but the hassle left a bad impression.

The Wing Dilemma

Once I got my wings, I discovered an unusual and disappointing policy: when ordering wings to-go, they do not sauce the wings. Instead, they provide the sauce on the side, leaving you to do the work yourself. For me, the whole point of ordering wings is to have them ready to eat, fully sauced and prepared. This extra step defeated the convenience of ordering takeout and detracted significantly from the overall experience.

Taste and Value

As for the wings themselves, they were below average at best. They weren’t overly expensive compared to some other places, but they also didn’t deliver in terms of flavor or quality. The lack of saucing and mediocre taste made the meal feel like a chore rather than an enjoyable indulgence. If you’re looking for truly great wings, this is not the place to go.

Ambiance and Atmosphere

On a positive note, the ambiance of Wings and Rings does seem appealing if you’re looking for a sports bar setting. It appeared to be a good spot for watching games and hanging out, but since I was there for the wings, this aspect didn’t make up for the disappointing food.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I would not recommend Wings and Rings for wings, especially if you’re ordering takeout. The combination of a frustrating ordering process, subpar wing preparation, and average flavor makes it a hard pass for me. While the atmosphere might suit sports fans looking for a place to watch a game, there are better options out there if good wings are your priority. This was a one-and-done experience—I won’t be returning. And I suggest you don't either.

Horrible service and food wasn’t good. Took them 25 minutes just to take our drink order and we saw them arguing about who should take the table. The manager was more interested in the football game than insuring his staff and customers had everything needed. Will not go back.

Literally might be the worst ran restaurant I have ever been in, whom ever is the GM should be embarrassed. Only two waitresses working, no support staff, took over a hour to get food with surrounding tables that came in after getting their food first.

Trash on the floor throughout sections, all surrounding tables dirty and never cleaned up, bathrooms are trashed and baby changing stations are broken and bend down toward the ground. Not even busy atmosphere so no excuse. Would highly recommend going else where

Walked in, sat at the hostess stand, no one even came over to acknowledge we were there. This was at lunch time when they were not busy ended up walking out without as much as a hello from the staff.
