I recently visited Fox's General Store and left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. The store's atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable, largely due to the cashier's behavior. During my visit, I observed the cashier:
- Speaking rudely to employees, using a harsh and demeaning tone
- Dismissing customer concerns without attempting to address them
- Making unprofessional comments within earshot of customers
This person's attitude created an unwelcoming environment that overshadowed any positive aspects of the store. His disrespectful attitude towards both staff and customers was shocking and unacceptable.
While the store may have decent food/products, the toxic atmosphere makes it difficult to recommend. Until there are significant improvements in customer service and professional conduct, particularly from management, I cannot in good conscience support this business.
I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary changes to create a better environment like how it was back in the day. Until then, I'll go elsewhere.

Not afraid to share this as a now former employee of two years and a customer since I was a little kid with my parents, as this definitely needs to be said. Ill always be thankful to the previous manager for getting me this job when I was going the rough patch in life but some things have changed clearly.
Aside from piss poor ownership after our previous manager (who was fired for having an opinion on things and a voice with the community) and 4 other employees all left at the same time (huge red flag there), this store also lacks common courtesy for its customer base and remaining employees with clear favoritism keeping solid workers from doing their jobs proficiently.
Certain individuals within the store refuse to maintain cleanliness, primarily a very small portion of morning employees that handle food without gloves, refusal to wash hands, and disgustingly digging between their legs which has been noted by customers several times. This is reflected further with bullying of newer employees and the owners refusal to act on it despite several instances in the past even when the prior manager was there.
As for nepotism, which understandably can often be fine at times given certain circumstances (part of the reason I got the job to begin with), this is utterly disgusting as the current "trainee" on the register and cousin to the owner (if you've been their recently you'd know) has yelled and treated the cashiers/kitchen staff like they were lesser in front of customers no less and refused to accept being trained despite having a clear designation. Not to mention he recently snatched one of the cashiers by the wrist (one who was bullied by a morning staff member for being "too nice" to customers) all because she tried to to correct him when setting gas pumps which several customers have also complained about him messing up on.
This was all told to the owner multiple times, yet nothing was done aside from having the man picked up early where he would return to work the next day only to do the same thing again. Clearly having no remorse from either men and leading ultimately to me and said cashier quiting the store.
These moments, along with poor scheduling, forgetting to pay certain employees on time, lack of communication and avoidance of interaction with employees he doesn't like (ones who have opinions I suppose) made me lose the remaining faith I had in the store as whole despite being one of the few that stayed during the mass exodus of staff. It's a damn shame because only a year ago the store was doing good and my opinion couldn't have been more opposite, but somehow it's only gotten worse despite several employees truly doing their best to maintain the previous standards despite being held back by the "man" in charge who won't speak directly to some employees anymore and avoids even making eye contact unless to mumble something under his breath and then leave before you even realize he's not next to you anymore.
There's countless more issues with the store but as I stated a large majority of employees work very hard but it's clear that their are some bad eggs in this basket that make it all in all not worth anyone's time honestly disgusting, unless they enjoy spending copious amounts of money on simple items that are half the price at most other stores only to be rushed out the door by the owners cousin before so much as a "have a nice night" can be said.
Not sure if anyone will even read this but as of now, 1 star is still considered generous in my mind. This also does not reflect Thoroughbred Market as a whole as I've never been to any other locations but Foxes General Store has gone down hill bad and the original owner Babe would be severely disappointed to to see what's been done with it.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. I could not fit their double cheese burger in my mouth and that was without tomatoes and onions. Also tasted great. Large helping of fries.

The food was good, but the girl that took my order was so rude. Short blonde hair girl very rude. Was super disappointed. The cashier was nice though.
No place better for a burger in all of Winchester!
They have such great food here! Grill closes at 7pm. Store closes at 8pm. Holidays might vary.. call store prior then to make sure!
