I eat at Gaunce's frequently. The half soup/half salad is a tasty and healthy meal. Santa Fe soup is always really good ... I could eat Santa Fe soup all day long! The Club House sandwich is incredible! I love their Snickerdoodle coffee.

Every time I pass through Winchester, whether for work or for pleasure, I always make sure to stop by Gaunce’s Deli. Their club sandwich is absolutely incredible. It is always fresh, perfectly made, and packed with flavor. I never leave without grabbing one of their homemade mini pies and a bag of Grippos.
Gaunce’s is a true Kentucky staple. The atmosphere is friendly, the service is fast, and the food is consistently great. I always look forward to the next opportunity I get to stop in and grab a bite.
If you are passing through Winchester, this place is a must-try. Be sure to grab an Ale-8 while you are there. They are bottled right across the street and go perfectly with your meal.

I needed a place to cater for my mom’s funeral. I gave Gaunce’s a call and spoke with the manager- Tiffany. I cannot say enough kind things about her and her team. They went above and beyond- from helping me pick out the items, to making sure we had everything we needed (utensils, plates, trays, etc.) and the biggest thing of all; she said they don’t typically deliver, but they made an exception for this occasion. Everyone loved the food, it was simple but delicious. Thank you to Tiffany and her crew at Gaunces!!! You guys are awesome and deserve all the stars!!!
I grew up in Winchester but hadn't been to Gaunce's since it was on Lexington Ave. I stopped in there today while I was in the area and ordered a Reuben sandwich. I believe it was the best Reuben I've ever had. I'll definitely be going back.

Cashier couldn't even tell us what the quiche of the day was. I asked if they could tell us if it had cheese or meat in it and was told that it "probably" has cheese. Cornbread muffins were undercooked - doughy center. Portions were small. Tasted and looked like the dumplings were from a can. The fried green tomatoes tasted like they were breaded and fried the previous day and then reheated and served on the sandwich. Not sure when the fountain machine was last cleaned as it spit black pieces into my cup after getting water.
