The atmosphere was fantastic, and the scenic drive along the way from Lexington was a highlight. Unfortunately, we missed the beautiful fall foliage. The food was quite pricey, and the taste was average. The shrimp and grits were the best part, thanks to the fried green tomatoes. The fish and chips were a bit dry because it was halibut, and the hot brown was a hot mess. We spent around $65, including tax and tip, on our lunch.

We just happened upon Hall's and it didn't disappoint! The food was excellent and I loved the atmosphere of the place. We will definitely be going back!

" Hot Brown" skillet dinner super salty, they charged $ 4.50 a baked potato when we tried to add them to salvage it. Went into the trash at home. Slow service even w/o a crowd.

Always a great spot for some southern food. Local for us but I recommend it to anyone passing through the area. A lot of history at the restaurant. We always visit while camping nearby at the Boonesborough state park campground. This time, we enjoyed a Sunday brunch and it was great. Service was good but they got busy really quick so the wait staff got stretched thin. If the weather is nice, sit outside to get the most of the atmosphere!

Service was worst I've EVER had it was nonexistent. Waitress took order, someone else delivered it. Never saw waitress until she delivered bill and we had long finished our meal, gave her my credit card, it took 20 minutes for her to return. Never ask how was your meal NOTHING. I left very small tip and signed receipt.

Hall's went in and added a 25% tip after I left. Yep showed up on my statement.

I had the crab cakes not to good,no crab just breading, very salty and under cooked.

Took out of town family to Hall’s because they had never been. First, the waitress was very kind, very efficient. However, the food was not good on all plates ordered. We had (7) in our party. My wife’s and father’s Kentucky Hot Browns were cold and soggy, Texas toast was very soggy, cheese sauce was separating in the dish. We actually didn’t receive one of them with the rest of the food. The Fried Green Tomato’s were sour. My daughter’s chicken sandwich was pink and under-cooked. My other daughter’s crab cakes were nearly soup. One of them tasted spoiled and the other was tolerable. My mother’s wings were tough & cold. Her baked potato was all she could eat. My pulled pork and beer cheese nachos were cold. Beer cheese looked like it came out of a caulking gun. It’s been two days since our visit, 5 of 7 people in our party are still nauseated and are enjoying the fall weather in the bathrooms. Our bill was nearly $300 and we left disappointed and apologizing to our of town guests. That’ll be the last time.

Parking: During a busy night it may be hard to find parking. I saw less than 15 spots.
