We ate at Dupuy’s seafood and steak at the recommendation from a lady at the cultural arts center in Abbeville. It was mid afternoon so only the bar area was open however it had tables, outdoor dining and their regular menu. We ordered fried oysters, the crab platter, Abbeville pasta, and Rockefeller oysters. It was really hard to say what was the favorite as it was all delicious. All of this food totaled around $100 which we felt was a steal for the quality of food.

This restaurant always offered a side salad for $1.99 when ordering an entree. I ordered the restaurant special which was a red snapper dish with lump crabmeat for $34 and requested the $1.99 side salad. I was told that they couldn’t offer it for that price since my meal already comes with a side salad and that the computer would not allow them to do it. If I still wanted the addition side salad it would cost me $4. Go figure… Can’t understand that one for the life of me. Probably our last visit to Dupuy’s.

Went on a Tuesday night, been a while since we have been but were in town and thought it would be a good meal. We started with side salads...not bad but lettuce had many brown spots but edible. I'm not a fried food person so I got the pan broiled fish. Was good but had so much garlic on it that the taste of fish was just ok. Also, did not like that is had to come with fries or it was an upcharge. Dessert was ok...didnt get the bread pudding which is the only thing they make there. I know this place has been almost 160 years....but I do not know how it has lasted...just ok

Dupuy's has been a staple in Abbeville for generations. The atmosphere is a bit loud but family friendly. They have great food. However, it is somewhat on the expensive side. Their servers are always friendly and do their best to stay on top of things. I do suggest trying their specials. You can get a great bang for your buck!

My go to, must stop at, whenever I'm home to visit. Fried seafood combo is my item of choice. The stuffed crab is always amazing. Catfish so tender it falls apart when trying to pick it up. And of course I need my hush puppies.
