This place is currently called Railway Cafe, and it's got a very cozy, rather nostalgic vibe to it. The servers are very polite, and the food is worth the price. I ordered the fish po'boy, and it was quite possibly the best po'boy I ever had!

Roast Beef Poboy, ? best of all the places I've eaten this dish. We had gravy on the side and didn't even need it. Have plenty of napkins, messy but so yummy. Will try dine in next time.

(For The Railway Cafe) Huge proportions. Super friendly staff. If eating there on a Friday night I would recommend calling ahead be they can get busy. Otherwise, it typically took me about 10/15 minutes to get my food during the week. Good people.

Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered ahead of time and it was ready when I got there. I ate the double bacon burger. Although it didn't come with fries or a drink, it was plenty big to fill that lunchtime hunger. Will definitely return if I want it again. Can't comment on the atmosphere because I just picked up to go. However it did look nice and clean. Would most definitely recommend.
Since the new owners took over i was reluctant about getting food there because of the food with previous owners. I was really impressed with the food. The quality i was not expecting to be that good.

I wasn't completed satisfied with my order. The chef salad contained a whole lot, but the ham was flavorless which led to me not finishing it. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich contained a deli slice of meat. For a $8 sandwich, I expected more. More bread and more meat. Other than those 2 being a disappointment, everything else was great

Can someone explain to me why THE SANDWICH SHOP got my order wrong FOUR TIMES. And I mean FOUR TIMES. I called to ordered a super deluxe bacon cheese turkey burger, a bacon turkey burger with no tomatoes or pickles, a large and small tater babies, and a large and medium butterscotch malts. I clarified multiple times that the super deluxe burger had cheese on it over the phone and again when i was going to pay for my order, the guy said “yes, there will be cheese o. that burger.” Well, I’m sure you can guess that the burger did NOT have cheese on it. My burger, the bacon turkey burger, had pickles on it. I sent it back to be remade, this time it comes out with tomatoes. Reminder, I said no tomatoes or pickles. They made my burger three times. By this time, my burger is cold. Not even warm. COLD! He also said I had a medium and small malts. I had to correct him on that as well. By the time he finally got the burgers right, my tater babies are cold and both of my malts are mostly melted. I paid $37 for terrible customer service and terrible quality food. Personal opinion, the only reason this place is still open after all these years, is because they are the only place thats not fast food around. LET’S BRING STINGERS BACK!!

This has been a family-favorite since I was in diapers. Center of Albany, great food, friendly service, just convenient for everyone. My fav is the grilled chicken poboy, sweet potato fries, & a walnut shake! Can’t get any better than that.
