(For The Railway Cafe) Huge proportions. Super friendly staff. If eating there on a Friday night I would recommend calling ahead be they can get busy. Otherwise, it typically took me about 10/15 minutes to get my food during the week. Good people.

Since the new owners took over i was reluctant about getting food there because of the food with previous owners. I was really impressed with the food. The quality i was not expecting to be that good.

I wasn't completed satisfied with my order. The chef salad contained a whole lot, but the ham was flavorless which led to me not finishing it. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich contained a deli slice of meat. For a $8 sandwich, I expected more. More bread and more meat. Other than those 2 being a disappointment, everything else was great

Nat Albany's strong Italian heritage serves this over-the-top shop well. Love the "no hovering" service model. Order, get food, and eat. As for small talk, fa-get-aboudit! Want more drink? Get up and get it. The staff is busy making superior homemade ingredient laden sandwiches. Even the meatballs in the subs are homemade. Compare that to Subway! I go there to eat, not foster relationships. Place a'int fashion plate: more of a dive, but who cares?

Can someone explain to me why THE SANDWICH SHOP got my order wrong FOUR TIMES. And I mean FOUR TIMES. I called to ordered a super deluxe bacon cheese turkey burger, a bacon turkey burger with no tomatoes or pickles, a large and small tater babies, and a large and medium butterscotch malts. I clarified multiple times that the super deluxe burger had cheese on it over the phone and again when i was going to pay for my order, the guy said “yes, there will be cheese o. that burger.” Well, I’m sure you can guess that the burger did NOT have cheese on it. My burger, the bacon turkey burger, had pickles on it. I sent it back to be remade, this time it comes out with tomatoes. Reminder, I said no tomatoes or pickles. They made my burger three times. By this time, my burger is cold. Not even warm. COLD! He also said I had a medium and small malts. I had to correct him on that as well. By the time he finally got the burgers right, my tater babies are cold and both of my malts are mostly melted. I paid $37 for terrible customer service and terrible quality food. Personal opinion, the only reason this place is still open after all these years, is because they are the only place thats not fast food around. LET’S BRING STINGERS BACK!!

The service is horrible. The 1 star is for service and NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THE CUSTOMER order whe. Picking it up. They do not follow instructions. My husband can not have mayo. We ordered a Hamburger with just lettuce tomatoes and mustered. On top of that. They forgot my shrimp po-boy and when I called to ask why. They acted like I was not telling the truth. Now if they had fix the sandwich when they were suppose to. Don't you think there would be a po-boy sandwich on the side waiting ti be bagged plus the fact we were coming from Tickfaw. So now the food that we did get was cold by the time we got back with the sandwich THEY DID NOT MAKE AND EVEN REPEATED TO ORDER BACK TO ME. WTF???? Terrible service. Sad too because my husband grow up eating there. Hire better employees. REALLY. People work hard for their money and this is like throwing it away.

This has been a family-favorite since I was in diapers. Center of Albany, great food, friendly service, just convenient for everyone. My fav is the grilled chicken poboy, sweet potato fries, & a walnut shake! Can’t get any better than that.

Called order in . 7/21/2023 . Large shrimp poboy , Fried Chicken Sandwich and Large Fry . Said 25 minutes . Got there they said it wasn't ready yet . Looked around . Nobody in the place had food . Was another 20 minutes before it was done . The prices on the menu online were wrong . But got the food home and it SUCKED . The fries were limp and full of oil and not finished cooking . My shrimp were so salty I couldn't eat it . The wife said the first couple of bites in her sandwich was GREAT . Then a bite of something real nasty . This is not normal for this place . Most every time we go there I would feal good about the purchase . Not this time . Felt RIPPED OFF .The Girl working the counter told everyone that they were sorry things were so slow . I said well we all know our food will be HOT. That was the only good thing . It was hot . Just Nasty and a waste of money . Hope they get it together over there . Been eating there a long time . When it was Eardys . So over 30 years . Looked like nothing but a bunch of kids working there now .Not saying that is a bad thing . They just seam to not have been trained on how to do things . PLEASE GET BETTER
One of mine and my husband‘s favorite place to go eat close to our home is the sandwich shop. They make the best cheeseburger you gotta try it out.

Food was good, but expect a wait. Which is not a problem for us, we understand that it's hard for places to find staffing. Staff wasn't exactly friendly, but they weren't awful. They've done a good job fixing up the place. Would recommend though, food was worth it.
