Went here recently for the first time in about 12 years. It was even better than I remembered. Fantastic food, excellent service and as always, a great atmosphere with the live Cajun band.

I was not impressed with the food. I’m sorry. I wanted something other than fried. We had crawfish dip, nothing special a little salty. My husband had the shrimp platter included gumbo, grilled, fried, stuffed, and a stew they called ettouffee. I had the corn and crab chowder made with overwhelming amounts of salt and parsley. All the gravies were made cornstarch. The Texas toast was also very salty. All the dishes with gravy tasted prepackaged frozen The fried and grilled shrimp were good. I know this is a local tradition especially for the music and atmosphere but the food needs help

Went there for my birthday with 10 friends and family. Had to wait a while due to no reservations. Reservations must be made no later than the day before you go. Got a great table next to the dance floor. We ordered a wide variety of food and it was all good. The most popular for our table was the fried blooming onion. Fresh but almost no grease. It was Saturday night so there was a band playing
We have been going to DIs for over 2 decades and each time has been wonderful. The live music and food just doesn't compare to other places in South Louisiana.

This is as original Cajun food, music and dance floor as it gets, but really good food. INSIDER SECRET: try these three items…. 1) Blacked Oyster appetizer, 2) BBQ Crabs & then 3) the blueberry and/or strawberry bread pudding…. OMG!! This is definitely the place to bring out of town guests.
