Tunks Cypress Inn is a true Louisiana gem. Incredible Caiun food, fresh seafood, and bold flavors that feel homemade and authentic. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, with friendly service that makes you feel like family. Every visit is consistently excellent--well worth the drive and a must-stop for anyone who loves real Louisiana cooking.
My husband and I treat our selves to tunks every once in a while. It’s one of those restaurants that we go to for a very fun date night to listen to live music.
This past time we visited I did get sick. I ordered boiled shrimp, I’m not really a fan when grainy seasoning is put on the outside of the shrimp but I tolerate it. The shrimp itself wasn’t hot but wasn’t cold. Idk, I ate one, was immediately put off by it, and got sick throwing up in the bathroom....

Last time I ate here was in '87 during a manager's meeting in Alexandria. This time thru, the wife and grandson were with me. Still the same great service and great food. My grandson wanted to try the fried Alligator, he liked it and thought it was the coolest meal he ever had. Thank ya'
