Always on the lookout for good local cooking, I stumbled upon Glenda's Creole kitchen. Never decisive, I was able to get both the smothered ribs and the red beans and sausage with two sides, corn and white beans. The woman who served me was patient and helpful as she described what some of the options were.For $12, I got a large plate of food that will give me at least one other meal. The rib was delicious with a good amount of meat on the bone and the beans and sausage were equally flavorful.If you're looking for fancy atmosphere or someplace romantic, this is not the place to go. If you're more interested in good food than decor, the rustic, homey and somewhat chaotic atmosphere is perfect.Thankfully, their visit by Anthony Bourdain has not seemed to change their way of doing business.

The best! Glenda is so nice. Good food done right!! I can't wait to go back. Everything is fresh and tasty.
Had the smothered ribs, black eyes and corn. She had the stuffed turkey. It was amazing. Portions were huge and left overs were even good, and I'm not a leftovers guy. Service was very nice to us. Reminds me of family restaurants in Mexico, the kind service and atmosphere. Bourdain wasn't messn round with this one.

Stopped here for lunch on the trip from Dallas to Baton Rouge. This place is the epitome of the Louisiana small intimate family restaurant. Food is outstanding, portions are large. I haven't tasted flavor like this since I lost my grandmother 25 years ago! Do not hesitate to stop and patronize this establishment. It's outstanding!
