This used to be my spot. They made some changes recently and honestly it couldn't be any worse. The service is complete trash now.

Their nachos are some of the best!! I would choose some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area over Rio Cantina, but their food is still very good!!

If you're looking for fantastic Mexican food, amazing service and a lively atmosphere, Rio Cantina should be at the top of your list. The fresh, flavorful dishes are amazing with options ranging from sizzling fajitas to mouth-watering tacos. Beyond the incredible food, the service is consistently top-notch. You can expect to be greeted with a warm welcome and seated promptly, with attentive staff from start to finish.
And let's not forget the vibrant patio area! It's the perfect spot to enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks and even catch some live music.
What makes Rio Cantina even more special is the owner. He's not just a restaurateur, he's a true community supporter and a pleasure to chat with. It's clear that Rio Cantina is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where you can feel at home, enjoy great company, and experience bold flavors.

We had the steak burrito, chimichanga, and birria tacos. All was decent but nothing to brag about or recommend to anyone. The birria was not good, very bland and they dont put the meat/toppings in the taco. They serve you cheese filled corn taco shells and you have to peel the shells with cheese apart to put the meat in and then go about dipping in the broth and eating. Very unconventional for birria tacos. Didn't love their take on it or flavor profile. Our waitress was nice but she seemed to zone out and stare off Into the abyss often. She would just stand in the middle of the restaurant floor like she suddenly lost her memory and didn't know where she was.

Took forever for the food to come out, then I was beginning to wonder if the food was free because the tickets took a very long time to come out.

Food portions are great. The service was great. Not busy, the restaurant has plenty of room to accommodate large groups. The spanish rice needs some adjustment (sorry). I'm very picky when it comes to authentic Spanish rice. It can not be undercooked or overcooked. The music is too loud (reggeaton has vulgar lyrics in Spanish, not appropriate). Music Playlist; Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Lorenzo Negrete, Ana Gabriel, Selena y Los Dinos, Alicia Villanueva, Linda Ronstadt Canciones De Mi Padre, Mariachi music. Make some horchata and jugo de Jamaica.

We had a party of 6.We went on a Wednesday night. It was out first visit. The drinks & food was amazing. Portions were more than enough. I will go again. I would have given all 5 stars but it took quite a long time between our drink order & out waitress to come back for our food order & there weren't that many customers in there. But, once we ordered it didn't take long to get our food.

I tried to dine in today. They were busy. I was told it would be 10-15 mins wait. Needed a table for one. I agreed to wait and gave them my name. Several more families came in and were put on the list. At 25 mins, still waiting, they seated a family of four who came in after me. Not happy. Then a couple came in 20 minutes after me. They were seated after I waited 30 minutes for a table. They were “slid in” for a waitress that works there. It’s very disappointing. I would go there about three times a month because I enjoy the food and drinks. They do not, no did not disappoint. I ended up leaving after waiting for a table for 35 minutes. You’ve just lost this customer.

Had a fine lunch with a great waitress! The white cheese dip is superior to other Mexican Restaurants in our area. An outstanding chips, bean dip, and salsa were served along the best taco salad (beef) with fresh chopped lettuce! Truly a delicious experience!

Great place and owned by the same folks as Las Palmas. Thumbs up to all the brisket dishes - my personal fave! 🥰

This place has definitely gone down the tubes. I think the only reason they still have the business they do is because it’s in an area where there are not many choices. Last night my daughter and I went and the waitress couldn’t even say hello or anything. After about 15 or more minutes, we had to ask 3 times to have our order taken. She finally walked over and just looked at us. Then when she brought the food she just put it on the table, didn’t say a work and walked away. To make it worse, she would not come back to the table so my daughter had to call the restaurant from our table to put in an order to go to bring home. She was horrible!!! This is NOT the first time we have gotten crappy service here. The waitresses need attitude adjustments or need to find another job. The owner needs to step up and pay attention to what is going on in this place. What an embarrassment for a small community who wants to support local businesses.
