By far the BEST SHRIMP I have ever eaten in the United States!! The food was excellent, really hit the spot! Was glad we got to experience this place while we were on vacation. Will definitely dine there again when we are back in town.Kid-friendliness: My 14 year old son was more than welcome to dine with me. I appreciate that!!

We just found this place via Google and boy, are we glad we did.The lunch special was crayfish Julia and it was delicious. It had a piece of fried catfish and was great!The beers were cold and our bartender/server Annette could not have been nicerThe owner Byron was so nice and shared so much information regarding the area. Is it off the beaten path?Yes.Is it worth stopping?Also yes.

Oh my... just get the seafood gumbo. It is heaven in a bowl! Our waitress was just lovely and answered all my questions about what I would need to make this recipe at home in Maine. It was so good that I practically licked the bowl clean. Seriously good food here, my husband had the fried oysters. Friendly and welcoming. You can't go wrong. Thank you Louisiana.
Out of all the restaurants I have eaten down here and loved this one was definitely a miss. Came in the restaurant and it was freezing had to eat with a jacket on. We ordered the jalapeño poppers, 2 waters, a half and half plate, and their signature baked potato. My husband's food and one of my sides came first. Our appetizer showed up after my husband had all ready ate half his food. Finally my food came and it was half cold, the chesse sauce had absolutely no flavor. The only thing that was seasoned was the little shrimps mixed in thats all. The service was only good when we got sat amd paid the bull. Other than that our server sat at the bar with her back turned to us the whole time talking to the other server's. I couldn't even get a refill or anything because her back was turned to use. I had 4 bites and couldn't eat anymore. The bill with only waters was $97. Fast forward we got home settled in and my husband starts getting very sick to his stomach and we'll u can imagine the rest. Definitely won't be back.

Fabulous find off the main typical tourist attractions. Great gumbo, shrimp and everything in between! Our waitress was awsome and deserves 5 ?!
My husband and I had lunch at Black Velvet the other day and we had a very pleasant experience. Our server was very friendly and the food was excellent! My husband had the seafood platter , our daughter had the kids shrimp plate and I had the Shrimp platter everything was so fresh and delicious . We will most definitely be back !
