Life is Good at The Ponderosa!Drove down from New Orleans with a large group this weekend. Cold beer, good drinks and the freshest oysters and seafood you can imagine. But what else would you expect when you're dockside at the marina.Freshly shucked oysters opened at the Oyster Bar, Grilled Oysters on the Half Shell, Fried Oysters to go with our Onion Rings, and fried Softshell Shrimp!But as good as the food was, the service was better: and the food Was Good! There were other large tables and plenty 2 and 4 tops, but the food and drinks flowed on and off our table. Looking forward to my next trip Down River to The Ponderosa...

Ok so we came back and tried this place again. Worse than the 1st time!! They are literally only open 4 days a week and they are out of fish, oysters, crab cakes and KETCHUP! Like who doesn't keep enough ketchup? Maybe the YOUNG girl that looked about 15 that was filling out the order sheet!! This place needs a serious overhaul! There is a reason it's been empty both times I came here!! We ended up ordering burgers and they were dry and no flavor!! The food and atmosphere aren't good enough to ever come back again. Well we tried!

This place is great the food is always great! They have specials on drinks and food. The restaurant overlooks the marina and is so beautiful in the evening. I love their fried oyster trio it's my favorite. The service is great and pick up orders always has everything I need before I arrive.

Wonderful, authentic, fresh food. Service was great. Shrimp and grits were on point. Oysters….best we have ever had. Royal red shrimp…super fresh and cooked perfectly. Delta bread was phenomenal. This is a must visit when in the area.

Disappointed- ordered sliders and they were burned to a crisp. Took all the juice out of them!!!!No followup fr waitress - didn't even ask how food was so couldn't tell her. Never checked on us at all.

Chargrilled oysters are fantastic. Ruby red shrimp boil was 5 star as well. Very clean establishment extremely courteous and helpful staff

Dinning with five people I had, Chard Oysters Bam Bam slam...( they were outstanding )then if it couldn't get any better the royal red shrimps. but wait the shrimp and grits !!!!!!!! Woweee
