Where do i start, Our waiter Jacqueline or as she asked to call her jackie was the most caring and wonderful most hard working waiter i’ve had in my lifetime. She treated us with the upmost respect she kept the margs coming for the buddies around me and had the chips served hot and ready like little ceasers. I had the enchiladas and she told me it was her favorite so i couldn’t tell her otherwise. She placed us in the cactus room and i felt like i was living at the vip level...
I haven't been here in a while because it is off my beaten path. It's a nice atmosphere to get caught up with friends. Service was good. Food was good. My quesadilla was a little salty, but not so much you couldn't eat it, just more than I would have added myself. Will be back.
For many years in Monroe's Garden District, was one of only a few Mexican restaurants, Ernesto's. In it's heyday, going to Ernesto's was kinda like going to the bar in Cheers, a place where 'everyone knows your name.' Iron Cactus takes the meals/recipes as were offered at Ernesto's and moved over into Western Ouachita parish, there in the heart of Calhoun.The food and the environment causes one familiar with Ernesto's to feel right at home!
