Dickey's Barbecue Pit

I stopped going here years ago and decided to give it another try . The first 3 visits were pretty good but not consistent with quality , quantity and price . Sometimes the bread is toasted sometimes it isn't . I always get a 3 meat plate . Today 8/31/25 was the straw that broke the camels back . My brisket slider was about 50% fat and gristle , I had to take each peace off and trim it . The brisket on the 3 meat plate was about 60% fat and gristle , I tried to chew it but I couldn't . The sausage was so dry . The chicken was moist and actually pretty good . Overall I was able to get about 3 bites of brisket . I was constantly spitting out the brisket because it was rubbery . I brought the brisket back to complain and they said OH ! $28 never going back

We wanted to try this place because my husband loves BBQ. I got the smoked chicken sandwich with loaded mashed potatoes and gray and he ordered the 2 meat plate with sides. The smoked chicken was more like cold cuts and was not hot and the loaded mashed potatoes and gray.... Well there was no gravy and the potatoes were horribly dry and Luke warm. The portions of meat were so small and not worth the $45 we spent. The brisket had no flavor except for the BBQ sauce he poured on it. It was really disappointing. Don't waste your money.

The place was a nice place overall. The food was good and it was served quick. They got my order right and they gave us compliments. The inside of the place looked good. Everything matched the style. If I could describe the look, it was Texas themed and had a cabin kind of look. It was a nice place overall and I would come back If I had too.

Please give them a try again if you stopped going like we had. New owner and management. Food was delicious and service was awesome.

Ordered the extra large family meal with e meats and 4 sides. The brisket was really good and tender the chicken and the pulled pork were good also. We will definitely be back for more.

I got doordash and I didn’t get my sides and when I went to try to go get them they were closed when they close at 9pm and I went at 8:30

Under new management they smoke there brisket 14 hours very juicy and smoked chicken is off the chain best i ever had ask for ali there whenever you go .

I’m not sure how anyone else feels about DICKEY*S but me and my crew don’t have any complaints!
The first time we came to Lafayette it was a really nice African American lady help us with our order. And let’s just say her customers service was SIMPLE AMAZING! She took her time and explained the menu and also gave recommendations and everything she recommends was amazing. It was so good here we are back again 3 months later and now we had the pleasure with dealing with a young man named Ali.
Not only was the food good his customers service was just as good. Although the helper (same person on both visits ) wasn’t as out spoke. He was real nice as well!
Our order did come out a little messed up. But being that it is Father’s Day we completely understand. Ali corrected all eras in a speedy way and for that we were thankful.
No worriers we will be back the next time we are in the area!

Food was Awesome. We had to wait 15+ minutes to make our order. Everyone there was polite and friendly. They were also out of foods that were on the menu at 12:45 pm.

Was very disappointed, loaded brisket potatoes, nothing but fat not good meat, ask for extra bbq sauce, did not get it. Potatoes were hard, not worth money spent, go to real bbq place

This dude served me cold food ,mac and cheese cold ,potatoe casserole cold,,white gravy cold only thing kind of warm was the chicken ,and i'm not talkin bout just warm or cool i'm talkin bout like its been sitting in the cooler ...smh never again

Service and food was great. The meat falls apart. I like that they have warm bbq sauce for u to put on your food. They have big yellow cup.

Food is great and the service is number 1!!!! I love this place...
