Food was amazing! Im from Texas I went to upper Louisana to see family. I drove 4 hours here to meet my Aunt for lunch. Worth every penny and mile I drove. I had the smothered sausage and chicken.

First time going and we went to the drive thru, the lady at the window that gave me my order was very pleasant and I enjoyed her humor. She made me feel so comfortable by it being my first time there. The food was good and it was tasty and I loved the flavor of it. Good ole home cooking. I'll be going back again.

I finally tried Veronica Café, and I’m officially mad at myself for waiting this long — because this place? Mind. Blown.
I’ve had my fair share of plate lunches over the years, but this was on another level. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The red beans and rice had that perfect smoky flavor — rich, hearty, and balanced. Nothing overwhelmed anything else. Just good, soulful food that makes you close your eyes and nod like “yes, THIS.”
The mac & cheese? Creamy, cheesy goodness that could double as therapy.
And let me talk about the fried chicken. Y’all. Fried chicken might be a simple dish, but what they’re doing at Veronica Café? Next level. The seasoning was chef’s kiss — not too salty, not too spicy, not too bland — just flavorful all the way through. Every bite had me wondering how they made it taste that good.
You can feel the love in every dish. I genuinely believe everything was cooked with care, intention, and soul. After today, this is officially my go-to spot for plate lunches.

I ordered shfimp etoufe, it was good. The cabbage was old and overcooked with little flavor. The ladies behind the counter were not very friendly. The condition overal---was dirty! The walls and door in restroom had caked on dirt from many years! There was a gentleman, whom I assumed was the owner--he was very nice and welcoming! The only reason I rated atmosphere a four was because I sat outside!
