I initially thought the prices here were steep, but decided it was worth it for that "homestyle," cooked seafood. Such a great decision! The portions were more than enough for the price. I spent 2 days eating mine... and I didn't even order a whole plate. The appetizers alone are absolutely worth the trip. I had to include pictures and that is not even half the fried mushrooms and fried pickles in one order.I'm going to recommend the chicken and sausage gumbo. It's everything you love about Louisiana cuisine, done perfectly and also served in huge portions.We ordered take- out and they got everything right, the first time, and everything went incredibly smoothly... even the way the food was packaged exceeded any expectations we had. They answered all our questions when we ordered and everything was exactly as described, if not better.Try this place. Really.

This place is awesome , 3 meat platter was filling and flavored, hamburgers are great also I only wish the large boiled shrimp had more than 23 which is what was in my serving. The shrimp were excellently boiled and good size but for myself I could use more spice, but thats just me. I feel the same way about the potatoes but then again thats just me. Service is great and I do highly recommend this place to anyone. I love that they will bring your order out to you and seem happy doing it unlike some that may yell your name for everyone to know you or wave their hands like they need you to hurry over and see what they have prepared for you. Thats why its nice to leave a tip when you pay even when you are not eating inside.

My big complaint is that the poorboys are inauthentic because they are not made n real New Orleans French bread. And, as a native of New Orleans who grew up on poorboys, I can legitimately say that the bread does make a difference. Other than that, the staff was helpful and friendly.

Highly Recommend! This is the real Sam, not to be confused with the place on Lee St. in Alexandria! I love this place! The food and the service are GREAT! Best seafood spot around! Also, the best remoulade sauce in the state! Yeah, I said it, Best In Boot! You've got to stop by if you haven't already! You're gonna love it!

The best crawfish I ever had. Go see them for your crawfish needs!!! One of the few restaurants that actually have real CATFISH and not that swai junk and their CATFISH is the best I have had. Truly amazing!!

Best gulf catfish and shrimp I ever had. Crawfish was off the chain. They were fresh and perfect spice. They weren't that busy on a Tuesday afternoon so the service was quick and the waiter was such a great guy. He was very personable and even had us laughing! I'm making a return trip from Pollock really soon.
