We had recently visited Poverty Point World Heritage Site and I saw this place on the maps. We like Cajun food so thought we’d give it a try. It’s a funky looking place along a delipidated street with empty buildings around it but, the people inside were very friendly and it’s obviously popular with the locals because, while we were waiting for our food, at least 6-8 people showed up to order. Passed through here and wanted to try! I ordered the blacked shrimp and catfish combo with dirty rice. The fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Sadly the rice was crunchy but flavored so good. My husband ordered fried shrimp and fries with corn nuggets. Everything was fried good. The Cajun seasoning on the fries needs to be on everything it was so good!
This was some of the best food I've ever had. My wife and I were visiting from NC and were staying nearby in Arkansas, and neither of us had ever been to Louisiana. We decided to venture off and grab something to eat. We both love fried stuff and gave Amazin Cajun a shot. This place hit the spot.
