Swamp Monster Restaurant

Found this restaurant on Google while in the area from Nashville for a wedding. Shrimp was delicious. Love supporting local restaurants! Plus we had the sweetest server - be sure to ask for Allison!

Oh dear Lord is the food here amazing. We are sooooo full, taking leftovers home to Meraux, LA. I wish we had one of these restaurants by us! The chef was at the door to greet us and tell of the specials and we opted for the Rougarue and the Monster Mash, if you are a fan of grits, you will leave here and be disappointed anywhere else you order grits from! The food was so savory and helped my hubby with his diabetic drop. Allison was so sweet and made amazing conversation, was very gracious with us and was here to open and welcome us to an amazing experience. I hate that we ate so fast and didn't catch a photo, but the lunch portions are huge, I can easily see sharing a dinner portion with a friend or date. If you're in the Franklinton, LA area, stop on by and get filled up while you wait for a glimpse of Big Foot in the Cajun swamp theme! Thank you guys for a très bien nourriture!!!

My family and I had the privilege to check out this amazing Restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was off the charts. We will be going back.

Can not say enough good things about this place! The gumbo was the best I’ve ever had and the swamp monster bucket- delicious! Emily knocked it out of the park! This will be regular stop for us from now on.

Never noticed this place on our trips to Bogue Chitto SP but we will be coming here on all future trips. We got the Jolie fries for an appetizer and burgers for entree, all of it was good. Took home bread pudding and that was amazing as well. We got to sample the gumbo, I’ll order it when we come back in cooler weather, good taste and seasoning to it just too hot to order right now. Attentive waitress, cool decor and 80s music make it a fantastic place for a date or with friends.

We got burgers and Jolie fries, our friends got a poboy and quesadilla, the portions are huge. My burger had four shrimp under the patty and one skewered on top, they were colossal size and tasted amazing. The Jolie fries with the roast beef and sauces was so good, three of us split the order. Everyone loved their food, the waitress/owner was attentive, the decor was great and the 80s music was the best. We will definitely be back here when we are in town camping but the food is worth the trip if you just want to ride and eat somewhere. We did get a sample of the gumbo, lots of flavor and seafood flavors, just the right amount of spice, would order this in the future especially in cooler weather.

WOOOOOOOW !!!! This is the best food I have had since moving back south 5 years ago!!!! Everything was so flavorful & rich!!! Original Items & the bbq shrimp comes peeled🤌🤌🤌We will be back & it’s on the list of where we will bring friends when they come to visit😋♥️

We live in Bogalusa and went to eat lunch at Swamp Monster restaurant for the first time. we will be back. Loved everything!!! very friendly staff. Fun decor with great atmosphere. The food was so good!!! Highly recommend trying the Filthy Swamp Thang. Everything we had was good but that topped it all.

My first time here my friend Rachel took me for lunch - she recommended the roast beef poboy so we split - it’s hot roast beef , seasoned very well, bread fresh - the only thing it was missing to me was some gravy. The atmosphere was very nice & quaint . The staff was very professional , nice . I recommend trying them if in the area . I did see alot of people ordering tacos so maybe I’ll try them on my next visit . I love the decor , the theme - the bathroom area was so cool as well stay tuned for pics & videos .
