“I love this place. the staff is friendly and they take interest in their customers.”

“I mean... does it compare to Texas Q? Absolutely not. Is it better than the big guys in Shreveport? Absolutely. The ribs are WAYYYY overcooked and need a lot more seasoning. The brisket needs more pepper. The bark on the brisket is nigh non-existent.

The sides though? Best jambalaya I've had at a BBQ joint. Not even close. The mac, however, needs Jesus and a lot more cheddar cheese, though the noodles are great, and the texture of the cream cheese is refreshing.

If the brisket had more seasoning and was wrapped in butcher paper instead of foil, this would be great. If the ribs weren't cooked to oblivion, broiled in tin foil for an hour longer than they should, and had more seasoning, they'd be great. If nothing else, the seasoning is awesome. It just needs as much love as they show their jambalaya.

I'll definitely be back, though. I'll chop up my visit as just a bad day. The folks are great so I want to support them!”

“A permanent building with outside seating. The fish tacos were great, my partners meat pies were ok, with more crust than filling. It was definitely an experience.”

Yes, we have some people that do very well on the grill, but when I want that flavor, I normally drive to Bodacious BBQ in Marshall, TX, I tried NO TEETH today (11/08/24) and now I’m hooked on the their BBQ!! You can’t go wrong! Those ribs, beans, potato salad, and the Mac and cheese is the truth! Truth be told, I don’t care for Mac and cheese, but I ate all theirs!! They get a perfect score from me!! 🙌”

“The owners are in our wonderful little friend circle. We’ve never taken an opportunity to eat at their restaurant as we live hours apart. They are kind, humble and grateful; I’m glad to call them my friends.
For all the reviews of how the waiter shouts or is “short” with people: did you ever stop to think there may be a hearing deficit? This not only makes conversing with others difficult; but, also, it makes speaking short and quick.
Before judging someone, think first.
And, more importantly, remember even your worst day is better than someone else’s best day.”

Service was outstanding. Paige was my server, she told me what she liked on the menu and what was popular. I should have listened to her but instead I wanted fried mushrooms and shrimp and grits. The mushrooms had absolutely no flavor. It’s They were sliced mushrooms and not whole ones, why? Why? Would you use sliced mushrooms? Also the batter had no Seasoning, so it was like I was eating tasteless cardboard. I ate a few and boxed them up only to take them home and throw them away. For the shrimp and grits, sad. Sad is how I felt, sat is how they looked, ashamed, that’s how the person that prepared this plate should feel. I hope it was prepared incorrectly. The plate consisted of unseasoned, lumpy, cold grits, no sauce, with 5 medium shrimp on top. The shrimp were the best part of the meal.
This place has so much potential, from what I could the staff seem to work together with ease.
I’m coming back, I hope that someone different is in charge in the kitchen”
