It’s Thanksgiving weekend and it was time to buy shrimp and crabs. This time my husband and I went to Hammond, La. For B & J Seafood. When we arrived the line was at the back door. It was my first visit but my husband has been there before. Every table was filled with guest eating. I haven’t had the seafood platters yet but looking at the guest food was mouthwatering. We ordered 8 pounds of shrimp and bags of blue crabs. Shrimps were a nice size for gumbo. The establishment had live lobsters, scallops, crabs, boiled seafood, and a lot more. We also bought boiled sausage and turkey necks. I tasted the turkey necks and the flavor was unbelievable. Cooked just right with enough heat and flavor. Soon we will definitely be back to get more of the boiled seafood. As we paid for our items, I picked up a menu and proceeded to our car. The atmosphere is lovely and everyone was so kind. Employees were so attentive and productive. B & J’s is welcoming and professional.

The platter deals are unbeatable. 20 bucks for snow crabs/ shrimp/ corn and potatoes. Not bad. It was seasoned pretty well, not spicy at all. Service was really good. Parking was a lil hectic tho. 8/10.
Update: 10/17/25. Visited BJ’s bc I was in town from Atlanta. We had an oyster po boy, and a fish and oyster platter. Fish tasted so fresh, I’ve forgotten what that tasted like. Oysters were crispy and soft, lightly seasoned. French bread top tier! Parking still hectic lol. 10/10
