I will never visit this place again. When we arrived it was nice the atmosphere is cool people put money on the walls and sign their names to it... we were seated quickly and there was a lot of staff on hand. Everything went down hill from there. The server asking us if we were ready to order moments after giving us a giant menu. Watching half the staff work and half the staff watch others work. We ordered gumbo it came out quickly it was okay the clear soup was not good and came out quickly as well. Them my salad came and my food came, but ONLY my food came. So waiting for my friends food to arrive my food started to get cold and finally my friend insisted I start eating as their food doesn't seem to be coming. Two different people approached our table to let us know his food was coming but it didn't. The crab cake I ordered was so salty I couldn't eat it. And after over an hour we canceled his order, but they said one of your rolls is done and brought it to the table. Even though we said we didn't want it that was not clear enough as they brought it and charged us for it.Unless you don't like eating together and want to sit and watch people hang out on the clock and not help bring food to the table together.... do not go here.

Their seafood and sushi is delicious. But sometimes the food can be a little too salty and oily, which is why I’m putting four stars. But the staff is always very sweet and accommodating. And overall, the food is really great. I definitely recommend the Ed Hoover roll and the fried shrimp. You can’t go wrong with either.

We live in Houston and we try to go visit New Orleans twice a year. We definitely make sure stop at Cate Street and eat our favorite food. Never ate a better sushi and strongly advise you to try cate street roll. I crave for it as soon as I come back home:(

I was looking for some seafood and this place had great reviews so I went for dinner, I was seated immediately and the waitress was great. Their sushi seems to be the main attraction and while I didn't order it all of the plates passing by my table looked really good. I ordered the catfish and shrimp combo and the shrimp were excellent, 6 large shrimp and 3 catfish filets along with a large portion of French fries, it was a very filling meal. I will definitely return and give the sushi a try next

So I'm here on business and I chanced upon this restaurant my first day of a 4 day trip. I have come 3 out of the 4 evenings here and have not been disappointed yet ( except my wine choice but who comes to Louisiana for the wine?). I had the tuna steak one night. Sushi the next and tonight I'm going for crab cakes. Their sides are amazing too: fried green tomatoes, sweet potato fries. This is a very comfortable and welcoming place. Oh and their draft beer is excellent. They have a local brewery so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Great food and service! Large portions and the food was good! Cajun pasta with chicken and sausage was very good and I only ate 1/2 of it. I never get a to go box, but all 4 of us did here due to the amount of food they served us.

Cate Street has good service and good food that is very reasonably priced. I had the catfish and my wife had the tuna. We enjoyed the food, and again, it was very affordable. The portions were large and we had more than we could eat. The side dishes were garlic fried potatoes and mixed zucchini and green beans, and they were very tasty.Recommended.

Cate street is an old train depot building that has been converted to a restaurant and the ambiance is rustic and quaint. The sushi appetizers were outstanding, as were the fried green tomatoes. The bread and the poboys was average and the fried seafood was as well. Fries needed a little more seasoning. Overall a good experience.
