Always friendly and professional and a clean dining environment. My favorite is the oysters! After a dozen or so of raw, I usually end up with the oyster PoBoy. I do eat here frequently and my last visit tried the bowl of gumbo with a side of potato salad and both were incredibly good. Only drawback is when ordering make sure that they heat it up or it might just be warm like mine was.

Very good oysters and boiled shrimp! The garlic shrimp and mushrooms were delicious. This place is better than Don’s seafood and better than Middendorf’s!Stephanie is a great waitress!

I ordered the seafood pasta, it was really thick and cheesy, they should have just called it seafood Mac and cheese, either way it was gross!

Service was decent but food was not up to par. Hush puppies were dry, fries were like any frozen bag you can get from Walmart and fish was the best part but definitely wasn't the best I've had. Way overpriced as well.

What happened with Chookies's?? I have gotten food from this establishment for years. Since Chookie has passed away the food has been terrible. I ordered a shrimp poboy or should I say a poboy bread with some shrimp. I paid almost 20.00 bucks for a shrimp poboy but it lacked the shrimp. There is so many other places that I can find a poboy that has the seafood. I won't be eating anything from here again.

We googled “great gumbo” in Hammond, and this restaurant popped up first. We viewed overall reviews and decided to try it.The reviews are VERY MISLEADING.The waitress was nice and competent, and stated they had just reopened recently. Restaurant was very clean. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The fried crab claws looked and tasted old. The fried pickles were soggy and previously frozen. The shrimp/corn bisque looked and tasted as if it was out of a can. The seafood gumbo was watery with very little shrimp/flavor. The cheesy seafood pasta was not blended together, had no flavor, and had chunks of non-melted cheese in it- looked like pasta with cheese whiz poured on & then some thawed crawfish tails dropped on top. The bread that came with the pasta was the only thing that was good, and by far the best thing on the menu. The burger was just ok. The fountain Coke tasted odd also, but possibly due to wrong syrup/seltzer mixture . Family of 5 adults, and we did not finish any of the dishes. No boiled shrimp available either.We will not be back.
